The Battle To Rescue Kobane's Wounded
Mursitpinar/Beirut: Iraqi Kurdish forces have blunted but not broken the siege of the Syrian border town of Kobane, a week after arriving to great fanfare with heavy weapons and fighters in a bid to save it from IS.
Tanks and armoured vehicles were deployed to impose curfews in the predominantly Kurdish cities of Diyarbakir, Batman, Bingol, and Van, as well as other areas. Mr Erdogan's calculation that the Kurds cannot afford to open a second front against Turkey kobane news while they are grappling with the jihadists is being tested. Mr Erdogan's ruling Justice and Development party may be hurt by the turmoil, especially if it scares off foreign investors before parliamentary elections due to be held next summer.
This was being repeated all over social media, all over the world, in Urdu, Arabic, German, French, Bengali, Malayalam, and Bahasa Indonesia, as well as English. It's too simple to say that there's a propaganda war going on over the struggle for Kobane. Actually there are at least two propaganda wars. One of those, the one to win over traditional media, came down in favor of the Kurds a while ago—about the time Islamic State actually published an article in its magazine, Dabiq, boasting about enslaving Yazidi women and girls and handing them out as sex toys to its fighters.
Sir Menzies Campbell, the former Liberal Democrat leader, said there was no legal barrier to bombing Isis in their Syrian strongholds. He told BBC2's Daily Politics there was no legal impediment” to the UK taking part in air strikes in Syria. Even more personally, she witnessed Isis' brand of violence reserved for women. The brigade shared its building with a man who specialized in marriage for Isis fighters.
Jaman was an early adopter of social media in Syria and he used it both to share news of his experiences and to keep in contact with those back home. There was a clique of five friends in Portsmouth to whom Jaman kobane news had grown particularly close in recent years: his cousin, Asad Uzzaman; Muhammad Hamidur Rahman, a supervisor at Primark; Mamunur Roshid; Mashudur Choudhury; and, finally, Mehdi Hassan. The Pompey lads.

Fighting between Isis fighters and Kurdish militia in the Syrian border town of Kobani has spread to new areas in the south and west. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights and an activist from the town also reported new air strikes kobane news by a US-led coalition on the edges of the town overnight. Isis fighters backed by tanks and artillery pushed into Kobani late on Monday, on the border with Turkey , touching off heavy street battles with its Kurdish defenders.
Elsewhere in Syria, the Syrian anti-Assad Opposition has made a significant advance in central Idlib province capturing Tel Al-Mastumah and several other barriers due south of Idlib city, about half way to Ariha. This effectively cuts the main highway running north from Damascus to Idlib and beyond. Heavy fighting is reported from several areas of Aleppo as the Opposition try to stem a regime attempt to cut off its supply lines to the north.
They had also launched an assault on a northern neighbourhood overnight but were pushed back by forces from the Syrian Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG) militia, the Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said. The Islamic State jihadist group has released a video showing a British hostage apparently in Kobani, in a bid to disprove that it is losing the battle for the disputed Syrian town.
Another fighter, who identified himself as Ameen, said: The game has changed now. After the Americans provided us with weapons, we turned from defending the city to attacking Isis. Now we are no longer playing the defensive in this war. I believe the next couple of days will bring us victory. Mr. President, honorable members, we are here today to discuss the situation in Kobanê, which has been under siege by these terrorists for over a month now.
