İlk Bağımsız Kürdistan Devleti Kurulacak

Columbia Üniversitesi Barış ve İnsan Hakları Enstitüsü Direktörü David Phillips, “Irak Kürdistanı, yani dünyada bundan sonra ilan edilecek ilk bağımsız devlet olacak" dedi.

City University Of New York'a bağlı City College of NY Anthropology Bölümü öğrencilerine extra kredi niteliğinde Kobani konulu iki saatlik ders verildi. The Anthropology Club ile New York Rojava İnisiyatifi işbirliğinde ve Colin Powell School for Cıvıc and Global Leadership  sponsorluğunda gerçekleştirilen konferansa, öğrencilerin yanı sıra dışardan davetliler de katıldı.

Kobani konulu eğitim amaçlı konferans David Phillips moderatörlüğünde gerçekleşti. Konferansta PYD lideri Salih Müslim, gazeteci Mutlu Çiviroğlu ve Boğaziçi Üniversitesi Öğretim Görevlisi Nazan Üstündağ konuşmacı olarak yer aldı.

Evsahibi olarak açış konuşmasını yapan Antropooji Bölümü profesörü Stan Thangaraj'dan sonra söz alan Phillips, ABD yönetiminin Kürt politikalarında bir an önce değişime gitmesi gerektiğini ifade etti. PKK'nin “terör örgütü” listesinden çıkartılmasını isteyen Phillips, PYD ile ilişki geliştirilmesi ve Irak Kürdistan Bölgesi'nin (KRG) bağımsızlığına destek verilmesini istedi.

Kobani'den sonraki gelişmeleri sıralayan Phillips, ABD'nin YPG'ye silah yardımı ve PYD ile görüşmesini önemine işaret ett. Phillips.

Bunun devam etmesi gerekir" dedi.

Durum Kürtler’in lehine dönüyor

Rojava konusunda yaptığı haberlerle tanınan gazeteci Mutlu Çiviroğlu, bölgedeki gelişmeleri aktardı. Kobani'deki durumun giderek Kürtler’in lehine döndüğünü vurgulayan Çiviroğlu, İŞİD'in ağır kayıplar verdiğini söyledi.

Galbraith, Müslim'in ABD yönetiminden ne gibi beklentileri olduğunu sordu.

Müslim de Kürtler’in hiçbir yerde ABD karşıtlığı yapmadığını ve ABD ve Kürtler’in Ortadoğu'da birbirine ihtiyaç duyduğunu söyledi.  (RUDAW)

Kurds Repel Latest Jihadist Kobane Push

Thousands of people trapped in a besieged Syrian border town kobane news face genocide by drug-crazed Islamic State terrorists. KARAAGAC: Assad. Turkey has been asked by the coalition against the ISIS led by the United States to participate in this intervention in Syria militarily. Turkey said, okay, we might be able to do this or we might be willing to do this, but we have one condition. That condition is that the coalition, in addition to ISIS, has to target the Assad regime. Turkey wants Assad gone. And I think this is part of its overall Middle Eastern foreign policy, in which it wants to increase its influence over its neighbors and over the entire territory, particularly among the Sunni Muslims. VICE News traveled to Istanbul, where a memorial march for two fighters who died in Kobane devolved into a night of chaos. Amid clouds of police teargas, we spoke to members of a PKK youth wing as they threw Molotov cocktails and shouted support for Kurds kobane news in Turkey and Kobane. Massoud Barzani, the president of Iraqi Kurdistan, last week met with Salih Muslim, leader of the Kurdish Democratic Union Party (PYD) which is headquartered in Kobane, and YPG commanders to discuss the battle for the town. In other areas of Syria, however, ISIS made gains against regime forces loyal to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, according to multiple reports. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said ISIS fighters attacked kobane news and gained control of parts of an oil and gas field in a regime-held area of Syria. Gardi added that no Peshmerga had yet been killed, and that they have destroyed a number of ISIS tanks and artillery.
After that article, it was kinda difficult for most liberal humanists to keep a soft spot for Islamic State. Oh, a few of the stupider fellas among the usual suspects tried to find some way of absolving sex-slavers of any blame in sex-slavery. Glenn Greenwald twisted himself into knots to make the brilliant guess that kobane news the US didn't even intend to bomb IS at all , which would have come as news to the men on that hill in the video. But c'mon—Glenn Greenwald? I had a little exchange with Glenn Greenwald over Mali a while back, and came away with the firm conviction that Greenwald may well be the stupidest human being on the planet.kobani news latest My research has long focused on the development of Salafi-jihadi theology, the ideology driving IS. This background has helped me talk to the fighters in a language they understand, discussing books and literature that they regard as important. Moreover, I grew up in the Middle East (I spent 14 years in the region) and, for a short while, dabbled with extremist Islamic groups. All of this has given me an insight into the radicalisation and motivations of the men I am talking to. All contact has to revolve around their schedule. The Kurdish militias in the region have a formidable reputation. But the YPG in Kobane is on the verge of collapsing under Islamic State's onslaught. Even if his fighters outnumber the jihadists, said Ismet Hesen, the YPG's resident defense kobane news chief, they lack the heavy weapons needed to stave off the attack. Did Turkey view this business positively? No it didn't,” President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said of the weapons drop at a press conference Thursday in the Latvian capital, Riga. In one attack, SAS guided warplanes into an area where IS fi ghters were massing for an attack The US jets dropped several 500lb bombs into the area, killing and injuring dozens of fighters. In another strike the SAS pinpointed the location of a large convoy of tanks, armoured personnel carriers and ammo trucks heading towards the area. An SAS team hiding in the surrounding hills directed two US combat planes into the area.kobani news live As for sex slavery, it can look very different, if you're a celibate young man sitting in a Tunis café with no job, than it looks to a New York Times pundit. As William Butler Yeats said a century ago, noting the, er, unusual eagerness of young Irish Catholic males to get themselves killed fighting better-trained and -armed regulars, celibate young men raised in sex-segregated environments get very excited at the idea of war and martyrdom. My hand is the first to be raised here, my old bald head blushing. DISCLAIMER: Please note that transcripts for The Real News Network are typed from a recording of the program. WASHINGTON - The U.S. military said Sunday it had airdropped weapons, ammunition and medical supplies to Kurdish forces defending the Syrian city of Kobani against Islamic State militants. In a written statement, Central Command said its forces have conducted more than 135 airstrikes against Islamic State forces in Kobani.

US Military Obliterate Islamic State Flag Planted On Kobane Hill

Yes it is true. Generally, the clashes are ongoing in the surrounding areas of Kobane. The clashes that started 18 days ago are still continuing. kobane ISIS is attacking Kobane with all its force and heavy weaponry. We only have light arms. We are fighting with Kalashnikovs and RPGs. We will resist to the end. Even if there is only one of us left we will fight for Kobane. Now we have made preparations for a fight in the city, and so we will fight in the city to the end, we will not leave Kobane for no one. The whole world is claiming that they are fighting terror; our call to them is where are they? Why are kobane they not fighting terror? They have beheaded so many people, they took 6 people from the village of Murade, they were civilians and they beheaded two of them. The truth is the whole world has shut its eyes and don't want to see or hear what is going on. We want to call upon those countries that are fighting against terrorism. We are upholding a historical resistance. In many places, in Helunce village on the east side there are many dead bodies they have left lying there. They were unable to progress from the east side. As it is well known, kobane they are able to bring reinforcements and ammunition from Raqqa, Hasakah and Aleppo. Last night around 10pm-12am they attacked once more tanks and and artilleries and were able to breach the border of the city. What do you think of the reaction shown by the Kurds as a people? The Kurds in Europe, or in the other parts; for example the Kurds of Diyarbakir have not opened their shops to protest ISIS. Deputy Prime Minister Bulent Arinc said this week the legislation would "give the upper hand to the police" in the face of "widespread violence" and "more space to resort to new tools and measures". In her words, she approves of the South Stream project only if EU legislation and requirements are observed.
It is not enough. The Kurds everywhere must walk to government institutions around the whole world, they must make the world aware that these are terrorists, we want all our Kurds in Europe in whichever country they are in and make their feelings known to these countries and the institutions there. The whole world is standing by as we fight with ISIS, there is no force that can defeat ISIS but us. They should make the whole world aware of this.

Islamic State Advance On Kobani Halted As Peshmerga Join Fight

Islamic State Advance On Kobani Halted As Peshmerga Join Fight Survivors of the fighting in Kobani have spoken of the horrors they witnessed as Isis militants took control of parts of the town from Kurdish forces. Over the past few weeks, the US has stepped up its airstrike campaign in Kobani in an attempt to aid Syrian Kurds attempting to prevent the town from falling to ISIS, which is also known as the Islamic kobane news State or ISIL. The US has also boosted the Kurdish forces fighting ISIS militants in the key town on the Syria-Turkey border, resupplying them with weapons, ammunition , and medical supplies. Turkey also has met with PYD leader Salih Muslim on several occasions, including last week when it tried to wring a host of concessions from the Syrian Kurds in exchange for Turkish support to the besieged town. As a whole, the demands were not anything PYD leader Muslim would or could never implement - including abdicating his group's autonomy, breaking relations with the PKK, fighting Assad and supporting his ouster and sharing power with other Syrian Kurdish factions that are weak and have tried to undermine the PYD. After a few days Masum said, ‘Mama, I can't stay at home any more. In Kobane they are waiting to be killed. They are killing our honour.'” A few hours later he was found murdered. While attention is focused on Kobane, Isis has also been threatening to overrun Iraq's largest province, Anbar, in what would be a major victory for the jihadists and a blow to the US-led coalition fighting the group. Enter your email address to follow this blog and receive notifications of new posts by email. Meanwhile, Greenhill reports that the latest invention” of the Islamic State in the region is the establishment of Jihadi Snatch Squads” which are described as ISIS fighters lying in wait in Turkey to grab unsuspecting Westerners kobane news as hostages. The captives are then sent to Syria where they are confronted by Jihadi John” who delights in beheading innocent victims such as Alan Henning and the other highly publicized social media decapitations. Similarly, the Turkish government clearly wanted to see Kobanê defeated by IS, to send a brutal lesson to the Kurdish movement in Turkey. Many people saw TV images of dozens of Turkish tanks lined up at the Turkish-Syrian border, while the fighting was raging in Kobanê just a few miles away. Of course, most Kurds have been right in rejecting any intervention of the Turkish army in the area, as this would only be to satisfy the thirst of power and hegemony of the Turkish ruling elite, certainly not the rights of the local people. UN Syria envoy Staffan de Mistura warned earlier this month that about 12,000 civilians remained in and around Kobane and risked massacre” if the militants cut off the border. Turkey is turning a deaf ear to pressure to take a more proactive stance in the fight against IS, with Western diplomats repeatedly calling for the NATO member to take a more active role in the resistance. The Iraqi capital Baghdad has also seen a rise in the number of bomb attacks in the past week. Muhammad Hamidur Rahman expressed similar views. I hate it when people say these mujahideens r the extremist sic, at least they are not sitting behind closed doors and watching Islam fade away,” he tweeted. Turkish foreign minister Mevlüt Çavusoğlu said that the decision to allow the peshmerga to pass through its territory was in line with a wider regional effort to fend off Isis. Staffan de Mistura issued the demand for concrete action” on Tuesday, after Turkey's president declared that Kobani is on the brink of being captured. The attack has forced more than 200,000 people to flee, one of the largest single exoduses of the three-year Syrian conflict. A resident of Kobani who escaped to Turkey told the Guardian on Tuesday that Kurdish fighters there have the upper hand against Isis.kobani news latest
It is not clear how many Kurds are aiding the estimated 3,000 Islamic State militants in the Kobani area - and fighting against their own Kurdish brethren - but activists say they are playing a major role in the 7-week-old kobane news conflict near the Turkish border. A top military commander for the extremists in the town is an Iraqi Kurd, known by the nom de guerre of Abu Khattab al-Kurdi, helping them in the battle against fellow Kurds.kobane news
