ISIS Set To Capture Kobani, Finish Major Land Grab

This week witnessed the second determined attempt by Islamic State forces to destroy the Kurdish enclave around Kobani (Ayn al-Arab) city in northern Syria. Kobani is one of three autonomous enclaves maintained by the Kurds in Syria. Using bomber, fighter and remotely piloted aircraft, U.S. forces conducted five airstrikes south of Kobani in Syria yesterday and today, damaging an ISIL training camp and destroying an ISIL support building and two ISIL vehicles. The strikes also hit a small ISIL unit and a large ISIL unit, officials said. It's a good, well paved two lane road, good for heavy trucks, semi's, even tank transporters. Finally this resolution recognizes that there is no military solution to the problem of misguided individuals seeking to join terrorist organizations. The US ambassador to the UN says the opening business” included passage kobani of a resolution setting new global rules to crack down on the flow of foreign fighters to conflict zones. Obama dispatches with some opening business and turns the floor over to UN secretary-general Ban Ki-moon. Same goes for Israel, which hates Syria and Assad for being allied with Shia-run Iran. Hence its otherwise-inexplicable tolerance of encampments full of ISIS members and other Sunni jihadists right below the Golan Heights, in an area that the IDF had shelled incessantly when the Syrian army still had a presence there but has been blissfully mortar-free since the Syrians moved out and the jihadists moved in nearly four months ago. KOBANÊ (DİHA) - The "Burkan Al Fırat" group, which was founded by YPG (People's Protection Units), Free Syrian Army (FSA) and certain other Syrian opposition groups, is also fighting with the YPG in kobani Kobanê Canton against the gangs of ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and Sham). A local commander told the BBC his fighters were "going crazy without sleep", but only 20% of the town was under IS control. Deputy Prime Lodewijk Asscher said Wednesday the Cabinet will deploy the six planes and two reserve jets along with 250 pilots and support staff. The Dutch also will send about 130 military trainers to Iraq to support Iraqi and Kurdish fighters battling the Islamic State group on the ground. Asscher said the Dutch government doesn't currently see an international mandate for joining airstrikes in Syria. In Syria, six airstrikes south of Kobani destroyed two ISIL-held buildings, one ISIL tank, one ISIL heavy machine gun, and damaged an ISIL fighting position. These strikes also struck one large and two small ISIL units. Three airstrikes north of kobaniKobani struck two small ISIL units and destroyed two ISIL-held buildings. To conduct these strikes, the U.S. employed U.S. bomber aircraft deployed to the U.S. Central Command area of operations. All aircraft exited the strike areas safely. with the farm. I didn't know where she was in relation to the fighting. I'd also hate to think she gave up on us :( There's been too many good people driven off by the trolls and piranhas on this site. Male Sunni Arab FSA fighters are joining female and male YPJ/YPG fighters against ISIS in Kobane. But US and Kurdish reports suggested the defenders still controlled most of the town and were holding out. As if to emphasize there will be no belated volte-face on Kobani, late on Friday Turkish soldiers fired on Kurds from Qamishli who were protesting Turkey's passive stance toward the battle and its refusal to intervene kobani, kobane, ypg or allow them to reinforce Kobani. The Kurds entered a buffer zone on the Turkish border and in the melee at least four protestor were wounded. Turkish officials say the soldiers were fired on first.

IŞİD'i Saddam Hüseyin'den daha tehlikeli gördüklerini ifade eden Barzani, IŞİD'in kendi yandaşlarına bile gaddarlık yapabildiğini belirtti.

The Latest İnternational News As Video On Demand

Fighters from Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) backed by tanks and artilleray have pushed into the Syrian town of Kobani for the first time, sparking street-to-street fighting and an order from its Kurdish defenders for all civilians to flee. The military is still in the secular camp and might stop Erdogan but so far he has used all dirty tricks to put his henchmen in places of importance. As long as he lives I do not trust Turkey. unfortunately, to bottle up Russia so that they don't have freedom to come and go as they please from the Black Sea. Watching current events, I think one Kurd is worth a hundred Turks, and a thousand Arabs. Saddam had Grand Ayatollah Muhammad Baqir al-Sadr executed using, according to some, an electric drill and according to others, a nail to the forehead. That was a huge deal - he was truly the most kobani, kobane, ypg influential and loved Shia' cleric in Iraq. Many former Saddam era special forces soldiers have joined ISIL. So now, Shia' militias are reported to have executed prisoners using drills and nails. But very, very few countries have anywhere near the numbers of women serving directly in combat as they do with the Kurds. Israel and Sri Lanka are the only two I know of, and I'm not sure how significant of a percentage of the Sri Lankan military forces are women. Honestly, I had a hard time coming by information on the subject. If you know of sources besides wikipedia I'd be grateful. ammunition, as well as food and water into Kobani, but I don't see how it is possible right now. And the US didn't support it because the US needs Turkey as a check on Russia in the Black Sea, as well as a firm bulwark against the rest of the middle east. And because the US hates leftists, as I've noted here kobani, kobane, ypg numerous times. The US supports and trains "moderate" and passive protesters, not leftists. Why are we always letting the down the Kurds? They seem to be sanest, bravest, and most ecumenical faction out there. But in this case the immediate solution is to help the Kurds and the Turks who are supporting them in Kobani however the US can. Right now that's airstrikes on daesh(ISIS). While they are on paper, our "ally", they are not in any way, kobani, kobane, ypg shape or form, "allied" with our tactical, strategic or political goals for the region, as failed and flawed as they are. Perhaps they are just really, really short-sighted. Or perhaps they are making a secret diplomacy with ISIS. In my discussion with President Obama, I emphasized the importance of the respect of the sovereignty of Iraq and the territorial integrity of Iraq. And as a Prime Minister of Iraq, I reaffirmed the importance for all forces that want to help Iraq to respect the sovereignty of Iraq and its territorial integrity. I am very thankful for President Obama and all the allies, all who are helping, for maintaining and respecting the territorial integrity of Iraq and its sovereignty. My fourth and final point is a simple one: the countries of the Arab and Muslim world must focus on the extraordinary potential of their people - especially the youth. You have demonstrated that when young people have kobani, kobane, ypg the tools to succeed -good schools; education in math and science; an economy that nurtures creativity and entrepreneurship - then societies will flourish. So America will partner with those who promote that vision. I'll agree with you that the League of Nations (which the US was not a part of, due to adopting isolationism, like so many progressives want to do today) did "stand around and allow Mussoliini" to invade League member Ethiopia and when Ethiopia surprisingly was kicking Italy's troops' ass, Mussolini decided to use gas on the population, and the League did absolutely nothing (which would be a policy advocated by today's progressives, sadly). But Ethopia's leader got Time Man Of The Year, so at least there's that.

Since the beginning of the Syrian uprising

Since the beginning of the Syrian uprising, children have suffered the horrors of detention and torture, first by the Assad government and now by ISIS. This evidence of torture and abuse of children by ISIS underlines why no one should support their criminal enterprise. I may not agree with what Israel is doing NOW but the right of the Jews to HAVE their own nation-albeit far SHORT of what is historically CLAIMED to BE that nation-is unprecedented and appreciated. Which ally? Turkey is rather kobani, kobane, ypg independent and has a right for that. Though they are a NATO member they may switch quickly under Erdogan and his ilk. The way I see it, the coalition air force is the hammer and the Kurds defending Kobane are the anvil. SYMPTOM OF HEAVY META POISONING: Feeling most comfortable in dead threads. Demanding a comment be a "yes or no" response while also demanding a diary on same. Stating a user is not welcome while demanding they keep commenting. They wanted those captured US-supplied Iraqi Army tanks to be used against Assad. Instead, they're being wasted against Kobani and the outskirts of Baghdad. Assad must go, so Syrian Kurds kooperating with their own country's gouvernment must not be supported. I can recall that s few years ago we had the lies and propaganda to promote Iraq War I. That was followed by the lies and propaganda that gave us Iraq War II. I've posted diary after diary about how our Iraq war strategy is doomed to fail, and so I've been accused of being "pro-defeat", "anti-Obama", etc. This 56 year old Jewish handicapped grand mother of two will VOLUNTEER to put myself ON THE LINE between these ISIL whack jobs and people defending their homes. Our bombs can do no good even when the people whose version (and whose struggle) you otherwise support say otherwise. I wish Syria and Iraq could be peaceful, liberal and tolerant places, but that just isn't in the cards right now. The ammo will be distributed, but won't be discovered until it's too late. Once a few go off, large amounts of ammo will be discarded for fear of sabotage, probably much more than was initially acquired. Anyone who didn't know exactly where their ammo came from will be loathe to fire. And abandoned after some successes, when ARVN and PDG's started blowing themselves up when using captured weapons and ammo, in close fought battles. Around 200 Iraqi soldiers were said to be trapped by Isis fighters in an army camp south of Ramadi in western Iraq. The individuals were designated global terrorists, an action that cuts them off from the U.S. kobani, kobane, ypg banking system and freezes any assets that may have in the U.S. US rallying world to tackle global challenges— #ForeignTerrorists resolution has 100+ co-sponsors—2nd most ever after last week's Ebola reso. American warplanes have carried out a new series of airstrikes on jihadists in the battle for the Kurdish town of Kobani in Syria. After months of fierce fighting, the defenders of the town have reportedly managed to halt the onslaught of Islamic State. Now, Kurds are slowly retaking the districts of Kobani, street by street. RT's Murad Gazdiev met kobani, kobane, ypg with those who survived the jihadi occupation - and they've told him of the atrocities the group is committing. 1,500 Kurdish Fighters Join Forces Against IS İn Syria

Syrian Kurdish YPG militias have been battling IS militants in and around Kobani for weeks, bolstered by U.S.-led air strikes and — more recently — by the arrival of Iraqi Kurdish Peshmerga forces. As well as besieging Kobani, IS militants have captured a number of villages around the town. In the first place, it is very unlikely that IS militants would report that the Kurds had retaken an important position unless it were true. The nature of the fighting in and around Kobani has meant that it is not possible to get a very clear picture of the state of the battle for the town. Kurdish militias tend to report dramatic gains, while IS militants are either silent or also report dramatic gains. However, there have been indications that Kurdish militias have been making some advances in the battle for Kobani. The statement said U.S. forces have conducted more than 135 air strikes against IS forces in Kobani. The Chechen IS militant also claimed that the Kurds had been assisted in their capture of the hill by American intelligence” and that the Kurdish forces had carried out their operation in the dead of night,” a sign that Kurdish militias are able to strategically outmaneuver IS to make gains. It said IS militants fired nearly 50 mortars at Kurdish areas, and two car bombs hit Kurdish positions on October 18. Erdogan said the dominant Syrian Kurdish party, the Democratic Union Party, is a "terrorist organization," just like the Turkish Kurdish rebel group it has been linked to, the Kurdistan Workers Party. Meanwhile, the Iraqi military said October 19 it had recaptured several areas from the IS group in a northern enclave as part of a major counterattack against the jihadists. Even the United States and Turkey warned in October that the town was teetering on the brink.

Two UK trade unions have issued statements in support of the Kurdish resistance in Kobane. Unite - the UK's biggest trade union - offers support and solidarity to the people of Kobane who have been in a relentless battle over the past month to protect their city, their human rights and secular society”. Iraqi Kurdish forces continue to battle Islamic State in an attempt to break the Siege of Kobane and gain control of the city on the Syrian Turkish border. On daily basis smoke is seen billowing into the sky from the intense fighting. Makeshift classrooms in tents for a few refugees in the Turkish border town of Suruc offer some semblance of normality in the difficult conditions they are living in.
The commission has engaged with the Turkish authorities to discuss ways to enhance the ongoing support to the Kobanê refugees in Turkey. But it is reported that 7,000-10,000 civilians are still trapped in the town and in need of kobane news assistance, and it is feared ISIL has already committed large scale executions in the areas that it controls around Kobanê. Mr. President, honorable members, thank you for your attention, and I look forward to our discussion. Several trucks, carrying Katyusha rocket launchers, mortars and heavy machineguns, rolled into Kobane late on Friday, according to Faysal Sariyildiz, a Kurdish lawmaker in Turkey's parliament. US-led warplanes struck Islamic militants battling local Kurdish fighters in southern part of the town, he said. The US military has said it sees "encouraging" signs in the battle for Kobane, but has warned the town may still fall. Turkey has come under increasing pressure over the last month to step up its support for the international coalition fighting the Islamic State (IS) militants. But Ankara has so far refused to use its own troops or to let US forces launch their bombing raids on IS from the Incirlik air base in the Turkish province of Adana. Some have expressed fear that a deployment of Peshmerga fighters to Kobane would leave them short-staffed in the fight against IS in Iraq. Advances and defeats continue on both sides, with an IS convoy destroyed near Bawabt Al-Sham with many Jihadists killed but the Islamic State capturing a Peshmerga fortress north-east of Mosul and many Peshmerga dying also. Wives of men from the Amariyat Al-Fallujah area who have fled to safer towns, say that IS is forcing their husbands to fight for them. For all Mr Erdogan's disclaimers, Turkey still evidently regards Isis as a lesser enemy than Assad.kobani news Lastly, analysts have found a new way of recording the numbers of displaced persons in war-torn countries like Syria. Here are are the light levels at night recorded by satellites for the period when the conflict began, on the left, and February of 2014, on the right. The night time light levels have decreased 74% during that period overall, 60% in 12 out of 14 provinces, with some cities being almost completely extinguished. Lawmakers there agreed Wednesday to send their peshmerga fighters after Turkey said it would allow 200 of them to travel through its territory to Kobane, where IS has an estimated 1,000 militants. On the ground, the jihadists kobane news made fresh advances in and around Kobane, said the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights. The IS group had also taken control of a string of villages west of Kobane, after days of trading territory with the Kurds. Despite having limited strategic significance, Kobane has become a powerful international symbol in the battle against the hardline Sunni Muslim insurgents who have captured large expanses of Iraq and Syria and declared an Islamic "caliphate". kobane news The Kobane battle has raged in full view of the Turkish frontier, testing whether a US-led coalition can halt Islamic State's advance. The failure of Turkey to help defend the town sparked riots among Turkish Kurds in which 40 people died.kobane news A news article said that since WW1, the Jews have ruled Turkey secretly. So why would Turkey want to get involved The Satanic , Luceriferian Jews need this war in the Middle East to continue as long as possible because , they want Iran out of the way and only by continuing the war wil Iran eventually become involved in som way for Israel , or Israel to use the United States to take Iran out of their way for control of the whole Middle East.

Turkey's Leaders See Kobani As Opportunity, Not Threat

John Cantlie, the British hostage being held by the Islamic State, has appeared in a mock news report claiming to be from inside kobane news Kobane, saying the battle is "coming to an end". The film includes "drone shots" of what is said to be the beleaguered city. After capturing Mosul, Tikrit and parts of a refinery in Baiji, insurgents attacked Samarra, where Shiite militias helped pro-government forces. Then, they seized Jalawla and Sadiyah but were forced back by government troops backed by Kurdish forces. They continued their moves south by Ishaki and Dujail. But not only have they abandoned us, they have been helping the tyrant Bashar instead,” the SRF claimed.
It was too hard to get a flat in Orfa town for $2,000 a year, 30km from the Turkish borders. Lots of Kobani refugees are hanging on in parks and roads now for lack of money. YPG, along with the Kurdish Front (KF) and some other Free Syrian Army (FSA) brigades, also managed to break ISIS attacks from the east of Kobane which were aimed at sandwiching in YPG forces from both directions. It is known that there was intense clashes between YPG fighters and hundreds of ISIS fighters supported by tanks from Tel Abyad who had launched an attack that began on Monday the 7th of July and continued on Tuesday and Wednesday. After Kobane, Saving Aleppo

This is the horrific reality described by the Kurds who have managed to flee into Turkey from Kobane, where the barbaric fanatics hold sway, despite coalition air strikes. Terrified civilians are stuck in the town and in a no-man's land between the outskirts and the border, which is closed to them. Furthermore, being a border city with Suruc of Sanliurfa province of Turkey, seizing Kobane will also allow ISIS to control the Mursitpinar Border Gate with Turkey as well. It is well known that ISIS gives specific importance to border gates especially for trade, easy crossing for fighters and logistics, the treatment of injured fighters etc. In this regard, it is increasingly likely that ISIS will plan attacks on other border crossings controlled by the Kurds like Serekaniye and Til Kocer, and crossings controlled by rival Islamist groups in Azaz. Since the start of the war in Syria in early 2011, the number of people fleeing the country has swelled to more than 3 million - half of them children. The US - which traditionally accepts more refugees than any other country- has resettled 191 Syrian refugees since March 2011, although the vast majority of these applied for resettlement before the conflict broke out, a State Department spokesperson said in an email. Nassan's comments came a day after the Pentagon spokesman said Kobani remains under threat of falling to the ISIS fighters Rear Adm. John Kirby said two weeks of airstrikes have killed hundreds of ISIS fighters, and have stiffened Kobani's defenders. This is not true. US Warplanes Bomb IS Near Kobane To Aid Kurds İn Syria

Kurdish fighters thwarted a bid by Islamic State group jihadists to advance into the centre of the battleground Syrian town of Kobane early on Saturday, a monitoring group said. The assault on Kobani indicates that Islamic State is turning its attention back to Syria. The Kurdish enclave has long been a thorn in the side of the jihadis; the Kurdish-controlled area interrupts kobane news the jihadis' territorial contiguity, separating Tel Abyad from Jarabulus and making a large detour necessary from Islamic State's capital in Raqqa city to the important border town of Jarabulus.kobane news twitter But it is doing little to aid the Kurds. This in turn invites the question of whether Turkey sees the Kurds as a greater threat than the jihadists, who stand to grab their third border crossing with Turkey. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan appeared to suggest that IS and the PKK were equally dangerous It is wrong to view them differently, we need to deal to them jointly,” he told reporters Oct. 3 in Istanbul. Erdogan's comments hold the key to understanding Turkey's policy on Kobani. Yesterday guns and explosions could be heard from across the border. Kurdish fighters repulsed a pre-dawn attack by Isis forces and still controlled the town's border crossing with Turkey, a vital supply and exit route. It is not clear how long the Kurds can hold on, with some 40% of the town in the hands of the jihadists. The United States has said airstrikes alone may not be enough to save Kobane. Critics have accused Turkey of helping militants. The officials spoke on condition of anonymity under ground rules set by the White House. On October 29, John Allen, the retired U.S. general tasked by President Barack Obama with overseeing the anti-ISIS campaign, told Al Arabiya News Channel we don't think Kobane is about to fall in the hands of ISIS, the entrance of Peshmerga fighters will prevent that”2. If Assad is gone, then Hezbollah will be in a lot of trouble. And if Hezbollah is also in trouble, Iran might be even more isolated.
