engal'in IŞİD militanlarından kurtarılmasının ardından, yaz aylarında dağlara sığınan Ezidilerin geri dönüş hazırlığı yaptığı bildirildi. IŞİD'in ise Şengal'deki yenilginin ardından Musul'da bazı militanlarını infaz ederek cezalandırdığı belirtiliyor.

RADİKAL – Irak’ta, ağırlıklı olarak Ezidi inancına mensup Kürtlerin yaşadığı Musul’a bağlı Şengal (Sincar) kasabasının Irak Şam İslam Devleti militanlarından kurtarılmasının ardından, yaz aylarında kentin düşmesiyle birlikte dağlara kaçan Ezidilerin geri dönüş hazırlığı yaptığı belirtiliyor.

Rûdaw'a konuşan Peşmerge Güçleri Komutanı Zaim Ali, kentte durumun sakin olduğunu belirterek, "Karargahları sağlamlaştırıyoruz.

24 yaşındaki Read, “James’le kendimizi silahlanmak zorunda hissettik.

TURKEY CALLING FOR MASSIVE GROUND WAR ACROSS The PLAIN OF ARMAGEDDON

Meanwhile Team Obama actually says: ‘meh, no biggie if 10,000 or so Syrian moderates are killed fighting ISIS, we've got a great plan to train and arm 5,000 over the next year'. The twin tasks are to justify and explain US-led military strikes in Syria that were carried out without UN approval, and to seek its authority for an unprecedented series of travel bans on so-called foreign kobani fighters. Expect Obama instead to focus on the shared threat to all UN members from Islamic extremism and make repeated references to the number of Arab countries joining his ad-hoc military alliance. Jets coming from Turkish airspace hit Islamic State-held territory in Syria just over the Turkish border, according to an unconfirmed report by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights. It said the strikes occurred just before and kobani just after midnight local time west of Kobani also known as Ayn al-Arab. It is unclear which country carried out the attacks. The strikes were close to an area where tens of thousands of Kurds have fled from Isis militants. It accused Turkey of supporting Islamic State group battling Syrian Kurdish forces along the Syria-Turkish border, and of stalling the peace process that it launched two years ago with the Kurdistan Workers' Party that led to the cease-fire in Turkey. In other violence, police said three separate bombings in commercial areas of the capital killed seven people and wounded dozens of others. Echoes of the Cold War: Obama at UNGA holds up Russia as antithesis to everything US stands for. Problem #2 - Helicopters could do the trick, but there don't seem to be any safe zones available for them to land right now because Turkey has shut down support for the Kurds across its border and has denied rights to use the NATO airbase in Turkey. It would thus be very risky. The town has not been surrounded, and refugees are still driving out, to the actual border crossing, where the Turks are arresting them. We are standing close to the Turkish-Syrian border—Turkish soldiers are meters away patrolling the fence, more to stop Turkish Kurds from joining the fight that to protect the country from Islamic militants besieging the Syrian border town. In the distance, black smoke is swirling from the western and northern sides of Kobani, the last redoubts of the few hundred YPG fighters who are there fighting for their lives. They control only about a third of the town now, YPG sources inside tell me, and the question remains how long they can defy the odds and prolong their last stand in a battle that resonates every bit as powerfully for Kurds as the Alamo once did for Americans. Russia's actions in Ukraine challenge this post-war order. Here are the facts. After the people of Ukraine mobilized popular protests and calls for reform, their corrupt President fled. Against the will of the government in Kiev, Crimea was annexed. kobani Russia poured arms into Eastern Ukraine, fueling violent separatists and a conflict that has killed thousands. When a civilian airliner was shot down from areas that these proxies controlled, they refused to allow access to the crash for days. This resolution will strengthen cooperation between nations, including sharing more information about the travel and activities of foreign terrorist fighters. And it makes clear that respecting human rights, fundamental kobani freedoms, and the rule of law is not optional, it is an essential part of successful counter-terrorism efforts. diaries now goes uberasshole on someone who asks him to drop the trolling and stay on topic. In Tehran, domestic repercussions of any potential statements he will make or meetings he will attend, can be costly. Hawks and fundamentalists, such as those in the Iranian parliament, will be circling like vultures to watch him slip. Last year in New York, the 65-year-old made a difficult choice and despite his own willingness decided not to commit to a historic handshake in the corridors of the UN headquarters with the US president, Barack Obama.

the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria

the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria - defeated the Iraqi army, the Syrian army, the Syrian rebels and the Iraqi Kurdish kobani  peshmerga; it established a state stretching from Baghdad to Aleppo and from Syria's northern border to the deserts of Iraq in the south. I share your hope about the role of women in the middle east. I believe that many women there have realized that they must act if they are to be liberated. Equality, horizontal egalitarian relations, elimination of all hierarchy in work and in government, and elimination of patriarchy are all part of this approach. Dressed in all black with a lapel microphone, Cantlie has longer hair and a fuller beard in this video. But Turkey is not expected to send troops or aid to the Kurdish fighters who are defending Kobani due to a decades-long dispute it has waged against a Kurdish guerrilla group linked to the city's defenders. The fighters in Kobani are affiliated with the Kurdistan Workers Party, or PKK, which both Turkey and the U.S. consider a terrorist organization. Associated Press writers Sameer N. Yacoub in Baghdad and Desmond Butler in Istanbul contributed to this report. Islamic State-controlled territory in the city and province of Raqqa was hit in the air strikes on Tuesday. He said Islamic State forces had advanced to within 8 km (5 miles) from the southern periphery of Kobani, which is also known as Ayn al-Arab - closer than they had been at any stage. Saudi Arabia has confirmed that it participated in the US-led campaign and that the son of kingdom's crown prince was one of the pilots. The Qur'an and the Hadiths reflect the society in which they were developed - 7th century Arabia. Of course it was normal to rape women taken in war, and the rules for that sort of rape were established. kobani The problem here is the Salafist interpretation of the plain text of the Qur'an as inerrant. Turkey's AKP Govt. desperately wants us all to think that they are the PKK, but that is not the case. Dusty and remote, the Syrian city of Kobani has become an unlikely spoil in the war against Islamic State militants — and far more of a strategic prize than the United States wants to admit. In the 5-minute video released Monday, Cantlie dismisses Western media reports on Kobani, also called Ayn al-Islam, where ISIS and Kurdish forces have been fighting for the last few weeks. I do, most of the civilians have fled from the battlefield, they are in refugee camps. to arm socialists, especially of the libertarian socialist variety (libertarian munipalism as developed by Murray Bookchin which the KPP has adopted). Whoever thought he was both was very confused or could not look up definitions of words or possibly appropriated them for his own use, possibly to appear more legit to a greater number of people. Here it is about to turn Friday in Syria and ISIS still only controls 20-30% of Kobani. n December of 2009, Ferhan Türk was arrested along with multiple other Kurdish mayors and politicians from Southeast Turkey. He is being detained for supposed involvement in the Kurdish Communities Union, an organization the government alleges kobani to be a political arm of the outlawed PKK. This is not the first time Ferhan Türk has been imprisoned for his political activism. According to his son, he has spent a total of 11 years in jail, with his longest sentence being eight years. For example, this item from medical literature India Faces Crisis Over Dwindling Numbers of Girls doesn't address why this is a crisis because, in that part of the world and further, it's taken for granted that everyone knows that familial life is a privilege and reward for men, not a right for anyone, and since environmental and socioeconomic conditions kobani cannot support everyone having a family, the elimination of females motivates young men of no property to join violent domination activities which, if they survive, will reward them sufficiently that they can afford to acquire a wife and have a family, and if they don't survive they have been eliminated from excess population pressure upon resources.

The Battle For Kobani

Children armed with AK-47s fought to the death to defend Kobani yesterday after air strikes failed to stop their Islamic State enemies. But this week, the U.S. dramatically upped its air power strikes against IS in and around Kobani, including 53 strikes over the last three days alone. Several hundred IS fighters were killed, the Pentagon said. Now, the U.S. cannot afford to lose Kobani, said Robert Ford, the former U.S. ambassador to Syria. That means the city's fate is tied, in part at least, to the success of the U.S.-led strategy against the Islamic State. It has become ever clearer in the past few days: If Obama really wants to stop ISIS, he's going to have to give up on toppling Assad. The two goals are at cross purposes. The US and Europe stood by and allowed kobani, kobane, ypg Hitler and Mussolini to assist Franco when the leftists in Spain were violently crushed. It's the same with the Kurds. Kurds on the Turkish side, on the border to Kobane, have been calling it "our dear plane". Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan said on Thursday he had been informed that agreement was reached for 200 Iraqi Kurdish peshmerga fighters to pass through Turkey to help defend the Syrian border town of Kobani kobani, kobane, ypg against Islamic State militants. Turkey is facilitating the passage of Kurdish "peshmerga" fighters to the besieged Syrian border town of Kobani, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said on Monday. British people are sickened that a British citizen could be involved in murdering people, including a fellow British citizen, who had gone to Syria to help people. The United Nations security council unanimously adopted a resolution to crack down on flows of foreign terrorist fighters”. Iraqi prime minister Haider al-Abadi met with Obama and asked for weapons, saying the Iraqi army had lost many of its weapons to Isis. Obama said violent extremism” in the Muslim world” was one issue that risks a cycle of conflict that could derail” world progress. But we welcome the scrutiny of the world - because what you see in America is a country that has steadily worked to address our problems and make our union more perfect. The Nusra Front withdrawal was posted on social media accounts linked to the group, notes analyst Charles Lister. Whatever we're dropping on ISIL should be similarly fortified, and then we should deliberately drop a few duds they can look at and discover pig blood or pig fat smeared on. Pictures of US Air Force women at the controls of drones, and dropping the hint that every drone team in the US that's in this war, has a woman pulling the trigger. Costs money to scrap that stuff, so the US through various agencies, bought a bunch of it and shipped it to the Croats and Bosnians. But the difference here is the push by women for equality within the context of a socio-economic and political model that emphasizes horizontal human relations. This is a wonderful development, and it will take time kobani, kobane, ypg to take root, and of course, it won't eliminate all cultural patriarchy and theocratic manipulation in one fell swoop. It would be somewhat dangerous though because of all the Russian and Chinese RPGs that IS has. You need to re- read up on Stalingrad, and Urban Combat. Ortona is a good book. The reason the battles over the Red October Factory was so vicious, and neither side quit, is because the factory dominated an entire kobani, kobane, ypg Stalingrad suburb, and who ever controlled the factory, controlled the suburb. And I suppose a Turkish prison would be better than being brutally murdered. Still not an option I'd cheerfully choose, though.

Irak'a birkaç gün evvel yaptığı ziyaretten bahseden Dempsey, görüşmeler yaptığı Iraklı liderlerden gelecek günlere dair cesaret aldığını belirterek, ülkedeki yeni liderlerin "daha düşünceli" olduğunu, ülkedeki bütün unsurları kapsayıcı siyaset izlediğini vurguladı.

ISIS Takes Key Iraq Base As Battle For Syria's Kobani İntensifies

In recent months, some media outlets have launched a smear campaign against Turkey by publishing and broadcasting news claiming that Turkey hosted and supported elements of Al Qaeda- linked terrorist groups in Syria. The slander went as far as accusing Turkey of training and allowing passage of those groups into Iraq and Syria through its territories. The hope of eventual victory nurtured by many of the Kurds observing the battle from the border isn't shared entirely by Ali, the father of the 18-year-old girl fighting in the town. His eyes betray his fear for his daughter and so does his voice. In a phone call to her father on Saturday, Evan told him: We killed almost 70 jihadists but they are a lot and they become more and more. They scream ‘Allahu Akbar' but why are they doing that? We are from the same religion.” She told him she and her comrades are in dire need of reinforcements and if they had equal numbers they could beat them. In an address before the UN general assembly, President Barack Obama called on the world to help defeat Isis and what he called its network of death” in Iraq and Syria. Obama said the only language the extremists understood was one of force and that the United States would fight until they were defeated. The family of British hostage Alan Henning has expressed concern that air strikes in Syria would complicate the effort to win his release. The battle is taking a heavy toll on ISIS fighters as well. A high profile American jihadist who defected from Al Qaeda earlier this year to join ISIS was reported by YPG sources to have been killed Sunday in fierce fighting in Kobani. Abu Mohammad al Amriki was first featured in an ISIS recruitment video kobani, kobane, ypg in February. Speaking in English with what seemed a heavy North African accent, he said he had lived in the US for ten years or so before traveling to Syria. He joined the Al Qaeda affiliate Jabhat al Nusra first, but then shifted allegiance and became a poster boy for "Jihad Cool" foreign fighters. The mythologies that support these patterns are varied from society to society but they all sort of militate in the same direction, which is individual survival. Maybe that's one of the reasons why Islamic fundamentalists hate song kobani, kobane, ypg and dance so much - it provides a spirit of resistance and prevents the cultural norming that these extremists want to see take place. Hence the Biden "gaffe" that highlights how Erdogan et al secretly think ISIS is just swell. Cantlie worked as a freelance photojournalist in Syria before being kidnapped alongside journalist James Foley, who was behead by ISIS militants. Cantlie appeared in an ISIS video Sunday to say hostages were tortured only when they did something stupid.” His video was in response to a New York Times piece published the same day that reported ISIS prisoners were severely beaten and starved. And yet there is a pervasive unease in our world - a sense that the very forces that have brought us together have created new dangers, and made it difficult for any single nation to insulate itself from global forces. As we gather here, an outbreak of Ebola overwhelms public health systems in West Africa, and threatens to move rapidly across borders. Russian aggression in Europe recalls the days when large nations trampled small ones in pursuit of territorial ambition. The brutality of terrorists in Syria and Iraq forces us to look into the heart of darkness. The antecedent to this is the Mujeres Libres movement in Spain , where women fought side by side with men in 1936, and who pushed for inclusion and equality within the Spanish anarcho-socialist movement. I hope the CIA kobani, kobane, ypg or Seals or Delta or someone is helping the Kurds coordinate targeting information. I don't think that's yet working very well and that's why you hear such ridiculously disappointing reports such as 'hitting a truck'. They are being opposed by just 2,000 Kurdish fighters with the YPG, the armed wing of the Kurdish Workers' Party (PKK), without access to any heavy weaponry and short on ammunition. To put this into perspective, kobani, kobane, ypg 800 ISIS fighters routed 2 divisions of the Iraqi Army, totaling 30,000 heavily armed soldiers, in June. We would view Turkey sending its troops without an international decision as an occupation," she said.

Turkey's Leaders See Kobani As Opportunity, Not Threat

John Cantlie, the British hostage being held by the Islamic State, has appeared in a mock news report claiming to be from inside kobane news Kobane, saying the battle is "coming to an end". The film includes "drone shots" of what is said to be the beleaguered city. After capturing Mosul, Tikrit and parts of a refinery in Baiji, insurgents attacked Samarra, where Shiite militias helped pro-government forces. Then, they seized Jalawla and Sadiyah but were forced back by government troops backed by Kurdish forces. They continued their moves south by Ishaki and Dujail. But not only have they abandoned us, they have been helping the tyrant Bashar instead,” the SRF claimed.
It was too hard to get a flat in Orfa town for $2,000 a year, 30km from the Turkish borders. Lots of Kobani refugees are hanging on in parks and roads now for lack of money. My brothers decided to stay at home to protect our house and fight with the PKK but they were ordered to leave last week as they are civilians who lack military training. The German magazine, De Spiegel, reported that one hundred textile factories and workshops in the Syrian city of Aleppo were moved to the eastern canton of Rojava, Efrîn, recently. The attitude of the regional government of Efrîn, actively seeking to attract private companies to the region, highlights the inherent contradiction of attempting to build a new model based on social justice, while working within the framework of capitalism. kobane news The development of what the PYD and the PKK refers to as democratic confederalism”, without getting rid of the profiteering and exploitative nature of capitalist property, and without the implementation of a thoroughgoing land reform, will lead to competition between localities for capital investment and its inevitable corollary: a renewed ‘race to the bottom' when it comes to workers' rights and living standards. YPG, along with the Kurdish Front (KF) and some other Free Syrian Army (FSA) brigades, also managed to break ISIS attacks from the east of Kobane which were aimed at sandwiching in YPG forces from both directions. It is known that there was intense clashes between YPG fighters and hundreds of ISIS fighters supported by tanks from Tel Abyad who had launched an attack that began on Monday the 7th of July and continued on Tuesday and Wednesday. Local sources reported that the YPG had destroyed several tanks and killed tens of ISIS members while also adding that the YPH had also suffered serious losses.kobane news Both Turkish and Kurdish leaders have struck a note of optimism in recent days, predicting that a peace settlement to end the insurgency, which has claimed 40,000 lives, could be only months away. SOHR have recorded 5772 people killed in Syria in October alone. 1064 of these were civilians, including 265 children and 112 women. Turkey has also allowed heavily armed forces from the Iraqi Kurdish Pehsmerga into the town to fight alongside Syrian Kurds. Elsewhere in Syria, US-led airstrikes overnight struck an oilfield controlled by the Islamic State in the eastern province of Deir-al Zour, activists said. Neither side has gained a decisive advantage in the fighting, which has forced almost 200,000 Syrian Kurds to flee into Turkey.

IraqI Kurds Set For Kobane Fight

Three people in Helsinki have started a hunger strike in protest at what they see as inadequate action from the EU and the Finnish state to help defend the besieged Syrian Kurdish town of Kobane.kobani news live The latest air strikes came as heavily armed peshmerga forces were poised to cross the Turkish border into Kobane to help the local Kurdish militia that has held out against a relentless assault by ISIL militants for weeks. Under heavy pressure from the United States, Turkey announced last week it would allow fighters from Iraq's autonomous Kurdish province to cross its territory to join the fight for Kobane. Washington has forged an alliance of Western and Arab nations to combat IS and the coalition has carried out a barrage of air strikes on the jihadists in recent weeks. The group arose in the chaos of Syria's civil war, an uprising against President Bashar al-Assad's regime that has killed more than 180,000 people and forced millions from their homes in the last three-and-a-half years. That's why IS has even taken the really scary step of bringing the Chechen to Kobane. You know why you bring in the Chechen? Because balrogs don't actually exist. Chechens are the next best thing, and the Chechen in question, Abu Omar al-Shishani ( Omar the Chechen ”), was transferred this week from the Sinjar front, where he was in charge of slaughtering Yazidi refugees. Omar has been brought to Kobane as a fixer, with the job of closing down the border before reinforcements can reach the YPG. For the last several months, news reports about the onward march of the fascists of Islamic state” have echoed that same sense of inevitability. Iraq's second largest city, Mosul, fell in June. Tikrit, Saddam Hussein's home town, fell the next kobane news day. In August, the Yazidi stronghold Sinjar fell. Every day brought new reports of victories for the Islamists. ISIS seemed unstoppable. Note: Strikes were not reported comprehensively day by day, so some may be missing from daily tallies.
The video, the latest in a series featuring 43-year-old kidnapped reporter John Cantlie, shows him in a war-damaged town, talking to the camera and rejecting US claims that the "mujahedeen" are in retreat. There is no indication in the video of when it was shot, but Cantlie refers to a news report that was broadcast by the BBC on October 17 and to remarks made by a US military spokesman on October 16. In addition, ISIS also wants to cut Kobane from the Kurdish Mountain Region (Kurd Dagh) or Canton of Afrin and Canton of Jazira (Hasakah). As of now, moving between three Kurdish Cantons is difficult. According to local officials, currently hundreds of civilians are also held hostage in Jarablus and Tall Abyad. Also some 130 Kurdish students who were kidnapped by the group remain in captivity for over a month after they were kidnapped as they were returning from school exams in Aleppo. Despite all calls from international human rights groups those children and other civilians are still not released and are being used as a bargaining chip to pressurise YPG, according to local human rights defenders.kobani news today ISIS released a video of Foley's beheading last month. This month, the group released videos showing the slayings of two other Western hostages, American journalist Steven Sotloff and British aid worker David Haines. As a U.S. soldier, Jordan Matson never saw combat, yet now he's in Syria, fighting for the Kurdish militia. "All my life, I've wanted to be a soldier," he tells CNN's Ivan Watson. It's been extremely hot, they were living on meagre rations and had to be sparing with water. The centre of the town was still in Kurdish hands, Abdurrahman said. The two Isis flags were still flying in the east of the city on Tuesday, with a Kurdish flag flying in the centre. After initially setting up positions to the east, south and west of the town, Isis shelled Kobani for days to try to loosen up its defences. Just across the frontier in Turkey artillery, gunfire and smoke testified to the intensity of the fight all day on Monday. A US military airdrop of weapons meant for Kurdish fighters fell into the hands of the Islamic State group near the Syrian battleground town of Kobane. The US Air Force parachuted crates of weapons, ammunition and medical kobane news supplies on Sunday night to resupply Kurds defending the Syrian town of Kobane from IS militants. I told Obama that the PYD is in the same class as the PKK. I said it is also a terrorist organization,” Mr. Erdogan said.

Kurdish battle for kobani

In Turkey, thousands marched during the weekend in solidarity with the besieged Syrian city of Kobane. This comes after Ankara - under pressure at home and abroad - allowed heavily-armed Kurdish forces from Iraq to reach the city through Turkey to reinforce defenders there battling against ISIS. In the video released on Monday Cantlie dismisses reports that IS forces have failed in their assault on the Kurdish town, declaring that they hold the east and south of Kobani and that their victory there is kobane news only a matter of time. On Friday, Kurdish fighters faced three attacks by IS militants in the east and near the centre, said the Britain-based Observatory, which has a wide network of sources inside Syria.kobani news update President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has insisted that the fighters of the Democratic Union Party (PYD) leading the battle against IS for Kobane are part of a "terror group" allied to the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) who have fought Turkish security forces in a three decade insurgency for Kurdish self-rule. Kobani and its surrounding areas have been under attack since mid-September, with militants capturing dozens of nearby Kurdish villages.kobani news update
In that video he said that IS punished anyone that tried to escape by using the torture method known as waterboarding”, in which the victim believes that he is about to drown, as punishment and criticised the kobane news way the US and UK dealt with hostage negotiations. The video then homes in on a point filmed by the drone, naming it, and after it a second point which expands to reveal John Cantlie talking to the camera. The United States also will lose credibility and stature among Kurds, who in general are the most pro-Western people in the region. U.S. airstrikes came too late and did not have sufficient effect. The US policy toward the Syrian Kurds has been held hostage by NATO ally Turkey, kobane news as Washington must perform a difficult balancing act to get Turkey onboard an anti-ISIL coalition while also heeding Turkey's sensitivities towards the PKK, a recognized terrorist group. Yet Washington's policy approach to the Kurdish people is fraught with inconsistencies. Protesters clash with police during demonstrations against lack of action by the government towards Islamic State insurgents targeting the Syrian city of Kobane. An injured man covers his forehead while Turkish riot police use water cannons and tear gas to disperse people who were protesting against Turkey's policy in Syria. BREAKING: Kurdish PYD co-leader Asya Abdullah from Kobane told me that they suspect IS might have used chemical weapons against the city. The Kurdish militias in the region have a formidable reputation. But the YPG in Kobane is on the verge of collapsing under Islamic State's onslaught. Even if his fighters outnumber the jihadists, said Ismet Hesen, the YPG's resident defense chief, they lack the heavy weapons needed to stave off the attack. Did Turkey view this business positively? No it didn't,” President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said of the weapons drop at a press conference Thursday in the Latvian capital, Riga. Just as striking as the determined organisation and solidarity of Kurds from across Turkey, is the noticeable lack of support from the government and NGOs. Apart from a small government-run refugee camp in the village of Aligor, all the camps are run by the DBP party and Kurdish activists. No NGOs have come here out of fear of angering the government. Kurds, and a handful of other activists who have come to help, are left alone to deal with the crisis. The Sunni militants want to seize the dams to bolster their claim they are building an actual state; the dams are key to irrigating the country's vast wheat fields and providing Iraqis with electricity. More ominously, the Islamic State has used its control over water facilities - including as many as four dams along the Tigris and Euphrates rivers - to displace communities or deprive them of crucial water supplies. US Warplanes Bomb IS Near Kobane To Aid Kurds İn Syria

Kurdish fighters thwarted a bid by Islamic State group jihadists to advance into the centre of the battleground Syrian town of Kobane early on Saturday, a monitoring group said. The assault on Kobani indicates that Islamic State is turning its attention back to Syria. The Kurdish enclave has long been a thorn in the side of the jihadis; the Kurdish-controlled area interrupts kobane news the jihadis' territorial contiguity, separating Tel Abyad from Jarabulus and making a large detour necessary from Islamic State's capital in Raqqa city to the important border town of Jarabulus.kobane news twitter But it is doing little to aid the Kurds. This in turn invites the question of whether Turkey sees the Kurds as a greater threat than the jihadists, who stand to grab their third border crossing with Turkey. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan appeared to suggest that IS and the PKK were equally dangerous It is wrong to view them differently, we need to deal to them jointly,” he told reporters Oct. 3 in Istanbul. Erdogan's comments hold the key to understanding Turkey's policy on Kobani. Yesterday guns and explosions could be heard from across the border. Kurdish fighters repulsed a pre-dawn attack by Isis forces and still controlled the town's border crossing with Turkey, a vital supply and exit route. It is not clear how long the Kurds can hold on, with some 40% of the town in the hands of the jihadists. The United States has said airstrikes alone may not be enough to save Kobane. Critics have accused Turkey of helping militants. The Turkish government had diplomatic and political negotiations ” with ISIS to free 46 Turkish hostages , and according to critics, has long ignored that its border had become ISIS's preferred method of entering or exiting Syria. A Turkish news channel showed live video feed from the Kobane border Wednesday, claiming that it showed ISIS fighters entering the city from Turkey. International Business Times could not independently verify the video. Damascus has faced repeated criticism for its use of barrel bombs — improvised explosive devices that have little accuracy and can cause widespread devastation. We are horrified by the reports that the Assad regime barrel bombed the Abedin displaced persons camp in Idlib and the images we saw of the carnage against innocent civilians,” US State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki said. One official said that while the results of the mission are still being assessed, it appeared that the vast majority” of the supplies reached the intended Kurdish fighters. That official also said the C-130s encountered no resistance from the ground in Syria during their flights in and out of Syrian airspace. The officials spoke on condition of anonymity under ground rules set by the White House. On October 29, John Allen, the retired U.S. general tasked by President Barack Obama with overseeing the anti-ISIS campaign, told Al Arabiya News Channel we don't think Kobane is about to fall in the hands of ISIS, the entrance of Peshmerga fighters will prevent that”2. One day later, Financial Times reported the ten peshmerga fighters who entered Kobani were an advance group of kobane news military experts who will plan the deployment of the remaining troops”. The same newspaper said it is not clear how effective the 150-man force will be in the street battles raging in the besieged city”, and the peshmerga units will mainly provide artillery cover for lightly armed local fighters in the hope it can help them push back Isis, which holds about half of Kobani”3.
Reports emerged that one fighter, Arin Mirkan, 20, a mother of two, had detonated a grenade against Isis in a suicide mission after she ran out of ammunition. There are women fighters here. How can I go? As a man I feel shameful leaving, even though I have no weapons,” said Rami. Rami's family have found refuge with cousins in an empty building in the bleak village of Suzan, 30 miles inside the Turkish border. They are the lucky ones. KARAAGAC: I think it is mostly about the Kurds. The U.S. is more concerned with the Assad regime, maybe, you know, particularly in the future, because fundamental U.S. foreign policy in the Middle East right now is to corner Iran, to isolate Iran. If Assad is gone, then Hezbollah will be in a lot of trouble. And if Hezbollah is also in trouble, Iran might be even more isolated.

New Developments İn Kobane Strengthen The Islamic State

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region - Kurdish forces have halted an advance by militants of the Islamic State (ISIS) on Kobane and are in control of most of the Syrian border town, Kobane's top official said Thursday. Islamic State has been attacking Kobanê, the most vulnerable and exposed cantons of Rojava, from almost all sides with heavy weaponry, tanks and missiles, trying for more than five weeks to crush that city's resistance. Rojava and its explicitly secular model has represented a direct defiance to the IS's reactionary theocratic agenda. Female fighters armed with AK-47s at the forefront of a battle against an utterly misogynist group have captured the imagination of many people around the world. There have also been reports of Isis entering the town and the Kurds are apparently preparing to engage in urban warfare, but once the Islamists are in Kobane it will become far harder to hit them using air strikes. kobane news Refugee Kurds observing the attack on their homeland from just a few hundred metres across the border have expressed bewilderment and fury as to why Isis soldiers, in plain sight, are not being attacked.
The strikes came a day after the extremists pushed into Kobani, seizing three districts in the city's east after fierce street battles with its Kurdish defenders. On Tuesday, the fighting had spread to new areas in the south and west, a monitor said. The US-led coalition airstrikes, which continued in the night and the morning, are helping but are not enough”, he added, calling for arms and ammunition to be supplied to the Kurdish fighters. We all have to realise that when the US coalition bombs the ISIL into the ground and out of the sky, ISIL will still pursue its aims to set up their ideal Sharia Islamic State in Turkey and the world! Whatever Erdogan does, Turkey will be next, as the centre of the Ottoman Empire. When Kurdish protests broke out in Istanbul and across five provinces in Turkey on Tuesday, the police were swift to try to put them down, killing 21 protesters. Iraqi Kurdish forces continue to battle Islamic State in an attempt to break the Siege of Kobane and gain control of the city on the Syrian Turkish border. On daily basis smoke is seen billowing into the kobane news sky from the intense fighting. Makeshift classrooms in tents for a few refugees in the Turkish border town of Suruc offer some semblance of normality in the difficult conditions they are living in. But their role in kobane news probably saved hundreds of lives.” The SAS have mainly been active in Iraq over the last two months but some members of the elite unit were sent into Syria when Kobane looked as though it might fall into IS hands. Sources added that US Delta Force troops and the SAS were able to cut off fl anking assaults by IS militants trying to encircle the town. With the heavily-armed peshmerga in Kobane, there's renewed hope that the town won't fall to ISIS. That removes at least one flashpoint in the simmering hostilities between Turkey and the region's Kurds. Peshmerga fighters in Kobane, a town near the Turkish border that has become a focal point in the battle against the armed group, fired at least six rockets from pick-up trucks at ISIL positions on Saturday.kobani news The Iraqi Kurds arrived in Kobani late last week after Turkey granted them permission to travel by land via Turkey to Syria. Turkey had previously been reluctant to allow the Syrian Kurdish Militia (YPG) to travel through Turkish territory because it believes the YPG to be associated with the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) movement that has led an insurgency against the Turkish government for self-rule.kobani news However, the SRF spokesperson claimed U.S. airstrikes have done nothing to stop President Bashar Assad's forces from bombing rebel held areas. Nusra's victory over the SRF brings it a step closer to encircling the kobane news government held city of Idlib - one of Assad's last major outposts in the mostly rebel held north. Saturday sees another day of demonstrations in support of Kurdish resistance forces in the Syrian town of Kobane.

Air Strikes Hit Isis Positions As Jihadists Push İnto Kobani

By 2 October, ISIL succeeded in capturing 350 Kurdish villages and towns, 39 creating a wave of some 200,000 displaced Kurds, most of whom fled across the border into kobane news Turkey Kurdish and Free Syrian Army forces, supported by American and Arab airpower, continue to defend the city against the ISIL attack as of early November. The Prime Minister's proposal is to include in the safe zone certain areas in al-Hasakah,” as well as Jarabulus, Ayn-al Arab (Kobane), Tel Abyad, Idlib and Afrin in an effort to protect Arabs, Kurds and Turkmens living in Rojava and northern Syria. The line or area will stretch from northern Latakia on Syria's Mediterranean coast to Iraq. It is potentially a land grab, and suspicions are heightened over this being the case when we hear the Prime Minister saying the exact lines of the safe zone might vary or fluctuate depending on humanitarian needs or crises. The international perception that the Turkish regime made backroom deals with IS against the Syrian Kurds was gaining momentum. Triggered by Erdoğan's policy in Kobanê, the recent mass protests and riots by the Kurds of Turkey (clashes between Kurdish activists and Turkish State forces, kobane news but also with Kurdish Islamic fundamentalists, as well as Turkish far-right nationalists), led to 44 deaths. These events reminded the regime that sustaining a backdoor war against the Syrian Kurds was difficult to do, without renewing another conflict with the Kurds of Turkey. This weekend's protests do not bode well for the Turkish government. In addition to supporting Kobane, many protesters chanted slogans in support of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), which both Turkey and the United States have declared a terrorist organization. Riot police stood by ready with water cannons, rubber bullets and tear gas launchers, but ultimately did not intervene. The bombardment of the border area will likely delay the entry of the peshmerga” to Kobane, said Observatory director Rami Abdel Rahman, whose group relies on a wide network of sources inside Syria. Kobane has become an important symbol of the battle against IS, an extremist Sunni Muslim group that has seized swathes of Syria and Iraq, committing atrocities and declaring an Islamic caliphate”.kobane newskobani news update As appalling and threatening as IS's actions are, it is not the only danger hanging over Kobanê and Rojava. Backroom deals with imperialism have to be rejected, as they run the danger of creating a qualitative change in the character kobane news of the fighting on the ground. Fire burns on the street near a police vehicle with a water cannon during clashes between riot police and demonstrators outside of the Middle Eastern Technical University (METU) in Ankara. The population of Kobane had been swollen by tens of thousands of refugees from outlying areas fleeing the genocidal force of IS (ISIL/ ISIS). During IS's war on the region, in addition to the beheadings of UK victim Alan Henning, there have been mass beheadings of Kurdish people who opposed IS's advance. If Kobane falls, the IS will next target the Mursitpinar border crossing to Turkey to further consolidate its presence on the Turkish border. But this is not Stalingrad, and you can't do that sort of simple cost-accounting. To understand why that air strike was worth it, you have to factor in all the times that video was shared online, all the gloating that went on from YPG supporters, Kurds, Shi'ites, and others who have reason to hate and fear Islamic State. My friend Annibale, who keeps up with a very interesting range of sources around the world, said he was getting messages from minority areas of northern Pakistan cheering for the video. The betrayal of the people of Kobane is symptomatic for the situation in the World. The kurds have been betrayed by the colonial powers like USA and UK for more than 50 years. Now it is Islamic Turkey who overlook the slaughter of the kurds at their border with Syria, and do not lift a finger. The YPG have been holding out for weeks against ISIL's offensive, backed by dozens of US-led air strikes against ISIL positions. Police fired tear gas and water cannon to disperse protesters who burnt cars and tyres as they took to the streets mainly in Turkey's predominantly Kurdish eastern and southeastern provinces. Clashes kobane news also erupted in the biggest city Istanbul and in the capital Ankara. Drone's-eye view: A video released by Islamic State, apparently shot from a drone, shows what appears to be Kobane.

IS Jihadists Launch New Offensive On Syria's Kobane

Stopped at the last minute in Kobane , the terrorist group known in the Arab world as Daesh — we do not use Islamic State , because the group is neither truly Islamic nor a state — is dispatching its murderers to other points along the Syrian-Turkish border. We at Lambdaistanbul are concerned for all peoples who have experienced or risk experiencing the massacres of ISIS, especially the people of Kobane. We recognise that not only is it those such as the gay individual who was murdered yesterday in Izmir, but also the Kurds who are forced to face cruelty, that are the oppressed of the world. We do not shy away from stating again and again that social peace will provide everyone with a habitable world. We were concerned when the threat of massacre faced by the Kurds in Kobane today was realised in Sinjar yesterday. Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu said today that his government will not allow Turkish citizens to cross the border and join in the defense of Kobane against ISIS attacks. We don't want our citizens to fight in Syria and we are trying to stop those who illegally cross the border,” Davutoğlu said today. This marks yet another show of support by the government for ISIS. Idriss Nassan told the BBC IS had lost control of more than 20% of the town in recent days. With the tide of deaths registered in Kerbala and elsewhere showing no sign of abating, some Shias are starting to complain out loud that the government and army command are incompetent at best, culpable at kobane news worst, and covering up the true of extent of battlefield losses. The Washington Post's Erin Cunnigham writes that Isis are using water as a weapon , cutting off supplies to villages resisting the group.kobane news live With the heavily-armed peshmerga in Kobane, there's renewed hope that the town won't fall to ISIS. That removes at least one flashpoint in the simmering hostilities between Turkey and the region's Kurds. Peshmerga fighters in Kobane, a town near the Turkish border that has become a focal point in the battle against the armed group, fired at least six rockets from pick-up trucks at ISIL positions on Saturday. UN envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura warned Friday that 12,000 or so civilians still in or near Kobane, including 700 mainly elderly people in the town centre, "will most likely be massacred" by IS if the town falls. US and allied aircraft have flown nearly 6,600 sorties in the air war against the Islamic State (IS) group and dropped more than 1,700 bombs, the American military said Thursday.

This book is based on the statements of the world's leading Shariah authorities and Shariah academic scholars. That flow of foreign fighters has worried governments across Europe, from where more than 3,000 people are thought to have travelled to support jihadists in Syria and Iraq. The consequences of this mobilisation have been far-reaching. The Syrian crisis revived the fortunes of the global jihad movement and kobane news it has never been stronger. It is better manned, better equipped and better financed than at any other point in the past century. Indeed, despite limited western intervention, the sheer number of IS fighters - many of them foreign - makes it impossible to see how the group will be uprooted any time soon. On Wednesday a group of 200 Free Syrian Army (FSA) fighters entered the besieged town at the request of the People's Defence Corps (YPG), the Syrian-Kurdish forces who have been defending Kobani against the Isis attack since mid-September. The government of the Syrian president, Bashar al-Assad, harshly condemned the arrival of FSA and peshmerga fighters as a violation of its sovereignty and a disgraceful act” on the part of Turkey. On October 5, 274 Kurds from Kobane were arrested at the Turkish border and held in a large room at a police station in the Turkish village of Suruc. Authorities have not given the people arrested kobane news — including many women and children — a reason for their detention, except to say they are suspected of being members of the YPG, the Kurdish fighters defending Kobane from the Islamic State.kobani news twitter

From Kobane To Haifa

WATCH: So far there is no sign of Iraqi fighters in Kobani and ISIS militants continued to fire mortar rounds during heavy fighting overnight. Holly Williams reports. Our interactions were often curt and difficult. He was aggressive and arrogant. I asked him what he thought of the condemnation of IS by al-Qaeda's leader, Ayman al-Zawahiri. Some of the global jihad movement's most important theoreticians, such as Abu Muhammad al-Maqdisi or Abu Qatada (who was recently deported from the UK to Jordan), have also chastised the group. They've gone soft,” Hassan told me. He reasoned that they had either lost their way or sold out. He was seven years old when Zawahiri helped plan the 9/11 terrorist attacks. Islamist militants attacking the Syrian border town fought some of their heaviest battles so far with Kurdish forces on Sunday, a local official said, and five people were wounded inside Turkey by a projectile fired across the frontier. Turkish soldiers patrol at the village of Mursitpinar next to the Syrian town of Kobani, on the Turkish-Syrian border in the southeastern town of Suruc, Oct. 5, 2014. The city is almost entirely encircled, connected to the outside world by a single road to Turkey. The regime is seeking to destroy the resistance through cold and hunger. While 1 million people have kobane news left to join the flood of Syrian refugees, some 300,000 Aleppans are holding on, threatened with the same death and destruction that the regime has inflicted on Homs and the suburbs of Damascus. Latest estimated figures from the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) suggest 481 Islamic State fighters and 313 Kurds plus 21 civilians have been killed in Kobane since September 16th, though the number of IS fighters killed in airstrikes is still not certain and could run into hundreds” according to American sources. US Central Command also says it destroyed an IS artillery position, 7 vehicles and an IS building over the weekend.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitoring group said at least one of the loads dropped had been picked up by the jihadists. A video purportedly showing this has surfaced online. But Erdogan kobane news indicated that Turkey was equally troubled by the weapons falling into the hands of the PYD, whose armed branch the People's Protection Units (YPG) has led the fight against the jihadists. But it is doing little to aid the Kurds. The UN has repeatedly called on world leaders to resettle Syria's displaced, and relieve the heavy burden placed on its neighbours. The international community has pledged to resettle more than 33,000 displaced Syrians by the end of 2014, with the UNHCR setting a new target of 130,000 by the end of 2016. The whole humanity should be ashamed of what is happening to the Kurdish people at the hands of ISIS, that all that they can do is to express their worry and regret. Last week, the Islamic State (IS) issued a video with John Cantlie, the British journalist held hostage by them, in which he appeared dressed in the usual orange outfit (reminiscent of Guantanamo Bay Detention Camp) kobane news and behind a desk with a plain background. From his point of view he probably has no choice but to comply with their wishes in order to stay alive, as he is in reality a most unlikely convert to their cause. Combat positions were destroyed and 16 buildings hit in the strikes. Kurdish fighters have been under siege in Kobane, near the Turkish border, for almost a month. Speaking to reporters in Geneva, UNICEF spokesperson, Christophe Boulierac, explained that five trucks departing from the Government-controlled city of Aleppo kobane news succeeded in reaching the suburb of Afrin, a small district due north, where thousands of children fleeing the fighting in Kobane have taken refuge. Aircraft from the United Arab Emirates, one of five Arab countries involved in the air campaign, took part in the latest strikes along with American planes, said Central Command, which oversees US forces in the Middle East. The operation kobane news included three strikes west of Baghdad, where Iraqi government forces are under pressure from IS fighters, it said. The brave troops are reported to have killed dozens of IS fighters after calling in several airstrikes. He said: On Friday night groups of male YPG and women YPJ fighters resisted a fierce onslaught by IS. They are totally committed to fighting to the death to defend the town but they can't match IS for weapons and they are heavily outnumbered. He added: Kurds say Arab planes seem less inclined to engage the enemy, instead just dumping bombs on fields and flying back to their bases. Their involvement is seen as mere tokenism. However, a contingent of 10 Peshmerga officers and men did cross into Kobane at around 3.00am in the night of Wednesday and Thursday, presumably to meet with the YPG and discuss logistics, where to deploy weapons and troops and to prepare for tonight's successful entry. Reliable reports now say that it amounted to 200 men, bringing to approximately 400 the number of FSA fighters in the city. Looking at the destruction of Kobane, this should be a stern warning to the state of Israel. When cities like Hafia one blue day face this kind of Islamic carnage, the International leaders will surely give kobane news big talks in the media. But they will hardly lift a finger. Israel must not put their trust in leaders who expose this kind of disastrous lack of wisdom. Israel must continue to look after its own security. The Turkish Army also managed to disgrace itself further yesterday, Thursday, when it opened fire with tear gas and live bullets on a vigil organised by artists affiliated to the Initiative for Free Art” which had been running in the village of Boyde bordering Kobane for the last 2 days. There have also been suggestions that some members of the Khorasan group were an elite sub-unit of ANF known as the Wolf Group” or the Al Qaeda Snipers”. The mood of Turkey's leaders changed in recent days, with ISIS on the nation's doorstep and tens of thousands of people fleeing across its border.kobani news latest A defeat for the Islamists in Kobane doesn't necessarily deal the fascists a death blow. It's more likely that the struggle will see ups and downs, with some victories for the Kurds and their allies, and some for Islamic state”. In Iraq, as in Kobane in Syria, there is a heroic popular resistance movement of men and women who are battling against Isis fascists. They must be defeated not only militarly but ideologically. The airdrop does not appear to have affected the fight for the town, however, and Can Polat, a Kurdish commander who spoke to the Monitor by phone from inside Kobane, says the IS has intensified its attacks since the new weapons kobane news arrived, briefly capturing a strategic hill to the west of Kobane Thursday. Salih Muslim, the leader of the PYD, told the Monitor that military chiefs from both sides are still hammering out the details of the assistance.

ISIS Hostage John Cantlie Says Battle For Kobane 'Coming To An End'

Iraqi Kurdish fighters hope to aid their fellow Kurds in preventing the "Islamic State" from capturing Kobani. But an Iraqi politician says the fighters' involvement in the besieged border city is on a short-term basis. U.S. airstrikes have been directed against ISIS positions in the Kobani area this week. But U.S. Central Command said there were no further strikes in the area overnight into Friday. In Syria, two airstrikes west of Hasakah successfully struck multiple ISIL buildings, including an air observation building and staging areas, officials said, and another airstrike northeast of Dayr az Zawr successfully kobane news struck an ISIL staging area and an IED production facility. Witnesses of chlorine gas attacks described them as carried out by helicopters, which only Syrian regime has. All fingers point to Assad.kobane news today Long before the battle for Kobanê was under media spotlight, the CWI highlighted the need for building everywhere in the region democratically-run, non-sectarian bodies as the basis for organising a mass popular defence not only against IS, but also against any other religious extremist groups, against the brutal and sectarian forces of the Syrian and Iraqi regimes, and against imperialist intervention - the latter being largely responsible for the growth of the jihadist gangs now assaulting Kobanê. The YPG have also targeted 3 x IS vehicles between Baghdak and Qara Mog villages in the eastern coutryside, killing at least 5 Jihadists. Müslüm fully supports and is proud of his brother. He himself is no stranger to political activism either, having spent three years in prison for his political involvement in the Kurdish struggle. This doesn't seem to bother him too much.kobani news Refugees in Suruc, Tukey, have told The Daily Mail how relatives and neighbours were beheaded by the militants, while another spoke of how he had seen "hundreds" of decapitated corpses in the besieged kobane news town. Neither we nor Turkey reached our goal through war. So there must be a political solution," he said. The supplies were "intended to enable continued resistance against the attempts to overtake Kobane," CENTCOM said in a statement referring to 'Daesh' fighters. That belief played out in Turkey's policy toward Syria. For example, Turkey was loathe to allow pro-PKK militias to provide direct armed support in Kobane. But that strict prohibition was coming at a cost: President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and his governing AK Party were alienating a large chunk of the electorate as Kobane burned. But Unluhisarcikli said Erdogan may have dodged a bullet, recently, when Iraqi peshmerga fighters went to help Syrian Kurds in Kobane drive back ISIS.

Kurdish Peshmergas Start Fighting Islamic State İn Kobane

A Turkish Kurd walks at Mursitpinar on the outskirts of Suruc, at the Turkey-Syria border, as smoke from a fire caused by a strike rises over Kobani, inside Syria, as fighting intensifies between Syrian Kurds and the militants of Islamic State, Oct. According to the prime minister of the Kobane canton, Anwar Muslim, the forces have made progress on the western front and are now able to protect the thousands of civilians collected there who are waiting to cross the border into Turkey. Kobani residents say recent U.S. airstrikes targeting Islamic State in Kobani have inflicted heavy damage. "Their bodies are left for days rotting in the street without anyone picking them up," said Farhad Shami, a Kobani-based activist. Roshid and Hassan were both killed earlier this month while fighting in the battle for Kobane. It is unclear exactly how they died, although Hassan reported seeing between 20-40” air strikes from American fighter kobane news jets a few days before his death. The YPG itself, meanwhile, is trying to push forces through from Ras al-Ain to Tel Abyad on the eastern edge of the enclave. A concerted Kurdish military effort is under way. Although all the groups had previously worked together to battle the Assad regime, things fell apart last week when in a major assault on Government positions in Idlib city in which key buildings were captured, ANF felt the moderate Syrian Revolutionary Front (SRF) had sat on its hands” leaving them to do all the fighting and forcing them to withdraw. The worst thing I saw was a man getting his head hacked off in front of me,” she said.kobane news today All forces fighting in Kobane have still not received any sophisticated weapons from coalition forces yet, he said, demanding more support. Our fighters are still using light weapons against ISIL.
