Has Propaganda Stolen Kurdish Defender ‘Rehana's' İdentity?

TURKISH-SYRIAN BORDER (CNN) - Witnesses in the Syrian border town of Kobani say the situation is getting worse. It doesn't matter how brave you are if you don't have bullets to fire and the enemy does. Britain's former ambassador to the US, Christopher Meyer, has criticised Labour's apparent insistence on UN security council backing for air strikes in Syria. Meyer accused Labour of subcontracting its policy to China kobani and Russia who as permanent members of the council would be expected to veto such any such resolution. By insisting on a UNSC resolution on Syria/Iraq/ISIS, Labour subcontracts its policy to China and Russia. This accelerated pattern of retribution, this raising of the stakes, and this deliberate and extreme manipulation of terror, is what scares me so much about this conflict. It makes me wish that the international community was stronger and more able to step in, because all the ingredients are there for barbarism on a scale we've not yet seen. for ISIS. That was a complete betrayal, yet our stooges in the State Dept. didn't see it coming. And being an ally doesn't mean we agree on everything, it means that the two countries will come to each other's defense if attacked. At least in this case it does. And Turkey is a strong ally in that respect, being a part of NATO kobani and all. Those on the left have always championed independent mindedness like FOREVER !! There's very seldom been the kind of homogenous lockstep among lefties as on the right, especially in these mindless teaparty times. But that's not so simple. They would probably need to fly them out of Incirlik in Turkey and of course the Turks are 'conflicted'. Also they'd need to have robust search and rescue capability right across the border kobani, since the A-10s fly low and are vulnerable to antiaircraft fire. I'm sure the US military (and all the others) are very reluctant to get low enough for an IS manpad or heavy gun to knock down an aircraft. The YPG also seems to have taken out lots of tanks, in addition to those being hit by the coalition air force. can wreak hell with ISIS' armor in an urban setting. I don't know the extent to which the Kurds have them, but it would be easy enough to deliver. quantities that we don't have to worry much about them being turned on Turks or whoever. Supply one and one half for each ISIS tank. Erdogan's comments did not signal a shift in Turkey's position: He has said repeatedly that Ankara wants to see a more comprehensive strategy for Syria before it commits to military involvement in the U.S.-led coalition. WATCH: Speaking kobaniabout the town of Kobani at the State Department Tuesday, spokeswoman Jen Psaki said while the situation on the ground in Kobani is horrific,” the United States remains focused on its broader strategy of defeating ISIS. But apparently the Kurdish women are aware that under the rule of groups like ISIS (and the less extremist but still very very extreme groups like the Taliban and Al Qaeda) they will have no choices about their own lives. She probably made a calculated decision to save those whom she commanded, friends whom she loved and cherished, by sacrificing her life to take out a dangerous ISIS unit that had been killing many. Further complicating the issue, the U.S. said it has begun talking directly to the Kurdish fighters' political wing in Kobani — a diplomatic move that is likely to anger Turkey. The U.S. isn't sure why IS is fighting so hard for control of Kobani, a city with few resources and far removed from any capital. But like the U.S. with Kobani, a loss to a ragtag group of Kurdish fighters would be a propaganda loss for IS.

İŞİD Saldırıları Şiddetlendiriyor

Irak Kürt Yönetimi'nden, "Kobani'deki güçlerin yenileneceği" yönünde açıklamaların geldiği gün IŞİD'in Mürşipınar Sınır Kapısı'na saldırıları ağırlaştı.

Information Clearing House

Another humanitarian catastrophe may be just hours away at Kobani. The latter is the Syrian Kurdish town on the border with Turkey that is now surrounded by ISIS tanks and is being pounded day after day by ISIS heavy artillery. Already this lethal phalanx, which fuses 21st century American technology and equipment with 12th century religious fanaticism, has rolled through dozens of Kurdish villages and towns in the region around Kobani, sending 180,000 refugees fleeing for their lives across the border. In Almaya, a suburb north of Damascus, controlling the road to Lebanon, ISIS just penetrated deep enough to OSS the road, stabilized their positions, then withdrew, leaving about 250 fighters kobani, behind. It took 4 Syrian Battalions 4 months to clear the suburb and reopen the road. Suicide tactics will likely continue, but they become less effective when they are known and anticipated. On Syria he came close to ruling out Labour backing for air strikes. The situation in Syria is somewhat different,” he said. Miliband pointed out that unlike Iraq, Syria is not asking for intervention. He said he would be calling for a UN resolution on air strikes in Syria. Air strikes alone will not defeat Isis,” Miliband said. We're doing some maintenance right now. You can still read comments, but please come back later to add your own. I wonder if someone promised them they would go to some women's heaven where they would not have to be one of some Muslim man's forty virgins, if they did this? One man's Heaven is another woman's Hell. I believe that is a large kobani part of what this war is about - human slavery, slavery of women. And, money, of course. But, then, slavery is money. I have great sympathy and support for those men and women who are resisting ISIS. May they find success. The brief letter did not mention the US invasion of Iraq in 2003, which rested on erroneous claims of weapons of mass destruction and arguably contributed to its current instability, but stresses instead the country's right to self-defence in the face of this new threat. Just as in Washington, the president has ducked the trickier task of winning a resolution for war in favour of a more palatable vote to contain the Islamic State through indirect means. America is not the World's Police. That is the thought and/or wish of the conservative mindset. Let NATO handle it. We cannot afford to fight their Wars. The huge War for Profit Machine that Bush built is still War Mongering. kobani It wants constant Wars to feed our War Machine. All the conservative private security firms want to keep making their millions. The YPG is the armed wing of the Syrian Kurdish PYD, not the Syrian Turkish PKK. There have been precious few sources of information about this critical fight anywhere in the US. I recently listened to Vijay Prashad being interviewed on Amy Goodman's "Democracy Now' where he spoke of this struggle that has largely been ignored. The left and broader progressive movement in the US needs to get its act together and make the shift from helpless observer to active solidarity. What the hell is really going on in Syria? What are we not hearing? There are shady forces at play here and I'll warrant that the darkest part is us - or at least is being done in our name, paid for by us. Hence all the propaganda. About all I know for sure is that ISIS is something recently made up and that the only time the truth about such life-and-death struggles is kept from us is when we are the bad guys. changing now that a rightwing Russia has replaced the Soviet Union, China is more nationalist/capitalist/imperialist than communist, and the very rightwing Islamic extremists are playing such a kobani big role in many parts of the world. The Cold War has been over for a quarter century now and many of the dogmatic Cold Warriors in our Govt. apparatus have retired or are retiring, as well.

TURKEY CALLING FOR MASSIVE GROUND WAR ACROSS The PLAIN OF ARMAGEDDON

Meanwhile Team Obama actually says: ‘meh, no biggie if 10,000 or so Syrian moderates are killed fighting ISIS, we've got a great plan to train and arm 5,000 over the next year'. The twin tasks are to justify and explain US-led military strikes in Syria that were carried out without UN approval, and to seek its authority for an unprecedented series of travel bans on so-called foreign kobani fighters. Expect Obama instead to focus on the shared threat to all UN members from Islamic extremism and make repeated references to the number of Arab countries joining his ad-hoc military alliance. Jets coming from Turkish airspace hit Islamic State-held territory in Syria just over the Turkish border, according to an unconfirmed report by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights. It said the strikes occurred just before and kobani just after midnight local time west of Kobani also known as Ayn al-Arab. It is unclear which country carried out the attacks. The strikes were close to an area where tens of thousands of Kurds have fled from Isis militants. It accused Turkey of supporting Islamic State group battling Syrian Kurdish forces along the Syria-Turkish border, and of stalling the peace process that it launched two years ago with the Kurdistan Workers' Party that led to the cease-fire in Turkey. In other violence, police said three separate bombings in commercial areas of the capital killed seven people and wounded dozens of others. Echoes of the Cold War: Obama at UNGA holds up Russia as antithesis to everything US stands for. Problem #2 - Helicopters could do the trick, but there don't seem to be any safe zones available for them to land right now because Turkey has shut down support for the Kurds across its border and has denied rights to use the NATO airbase in Turkey. It would thus be very risky. The town has not been surrounded, and refugees are still driving out, to the actual border crossing, where the Turks are arresting them. We are standing close to the Turkish-Syrian border—Turkish soldiers are meters away patrolling the fence, more to stop Turkish Kurds from joining the fight that to protect the country from Islamic militants besieging the Syrian border town. In the distance, black smoke is swirling from the western and northern sides of Kobani, the last redoubts of the few hundred YPG fighters who are there fighting for their lives. They control only about a third of the town now, YPG sources inside tell me, and the question remains how long they can defy the odds and prolong their last stand in a battle that resonates every bit as powerfully for Kurds as the Alamo once did for Americans. Russia's actions in Ukraine challenge this post-war order. Here are the facts. After the people of Ukraine mobilized popular protests and calls for reform, their corrupt President fled. Against the will of the government in Kiev, Crimea was annexed. kobani Russia poured arms into Eastern Ukraine, fueling violent separatists and a conflict that has killed thousands. When a civilian airliner was shot down from areas that these proxies controlled, they refused to allow access to the crash for days. This resolution will strengthen cooperation between nations, including sharing more information about the travel and activities of foreign terrorist fighters. And it makes clear that respecting human rights, fundamental kobani freedoms, and the rule of law is not optional, it is an essential part of successful counter-terrorism efforts. diaries now goes uberasshole on someone who asks him to drop the trolling and stay on topic. In Tehran, domestic repercussions of any potential statements he will make or meetings he will attend, can be costly. Hawks and fundamentalists, such as those in the Iranian parliament, will be circling like vultures to watch him slip. Last year in New York, the 65-year-old made a difficult choice and despite his own willingness decided not to commit to a historic handshake in the corridors of the UN headquarters with the US president, Barack Obama.

ISIS Sends Reinforcements To Battle For Kobani İn N Syria

SURUC Turkey (Reuters) - With medical supplies depleted in the war-ravaged north Syrian town of Kobani, Kurdish activist Blesa Omar rushed kobani three comrades wounded in battle against Islamic State fighters straight to the border to dispatch them to a Turkish hospital. The B-1 bomber that has been loitering over Kobane seemingly non-stop for a few days now sure was instrumental in turning the tide, though. and make it difficult to move, but they can't really stop it, especially when the fighting in Ain-al-Arab becomes an urban house-to-house fiasco. I hope/wish that we are providing the Kurds with what they need, but I doubt we'll do it. Kossack since 2006. Joined for the leftist political activism - stuck around to see if the volcano blows. The Turks obviously made some shady deal to get their 49 hostages back and it pretty much looks like the deal was for a blind eye and agreement the Vermin ( my name for I whom I won't even repeat their name as they are kobani lowest form of animals) would not move into Turkey. Thank goodness there are people protesting their weakness. It is not known when this video was filmed, but Cantlie quotes media reports from as late as mid-October. When the fighting hot and heavy, an AK can go for as much as a grand, and bullets $3.50 each. When a cease fire comes, prices drop to as low as a hundred for an AK and a box of ammo, $5 bucks. We buy a bunch of it back, in kobani bulk, our " friends" get some folding money, and we move it on. We arn't the only ones who have learned this trick, the Saudi's and UAE do it too. That's how Egyptian AK's wound up, first in Libya, then Syria, now Iraq. But on Saturday and Sunday the Kurdish defenses were still holding and from the border both days appeared quieter. U.S. warplanes attacked just five times on Saturday morning—a sandstorm obscuring much of the town may have contributed kobani to the decrease in American air operations—and they started up again in the evening. I don't have the heart to ask him what his thoughts were when he heard last week's news of a Kurdish woman fighter acting as a suicide bomber. The Turkish authorities don't seem to expect any large inflow of more refugees now. The AFD, Turkey's agency for emergencies, has packed up its large tents for processing refugees at the two main border entry points near Kobani. We have not received the kind of support we've been looking for from the international community” he says. Erdogan says Turkey has been target of unjust criticism in this context”. Sahih Muslim 3433—Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (Allah be pleased with him) reported that Allah's Apostle (may peace be upon him) sent a small army. The rest of the hadith is the same except this that he said: Except what your right hands possess out of them are lawful for you; and he did not mention when their ‘idda period comes to an end”. This hadith has been reported on the authority of Abu Sa'id (al-Khudri) (Allah be pleased with him) through another chain of transmitters and the words are: They took captives (women) on the day of Autas who had their husbands. But a look at a map shows why it would mark an important strategic victory for the militants. ISIS would control a complete swath of land between its self-declared capital of Raqqa, Syria, and Turkey - a stretch of more than 100 kilometers (62 miles). As of Tuesday, according to U.S. Central Command, the U.S. had conducted airstrikes that hit at least 20 locations in Syria Combat aircraft flew 64 sorties. This just really reminds me how ticked I am at Turkey for sitting on the sidelines either hoping for, or not caring about a slaughter in Kobane. Obama needs to tell the Turks to get the out of NATO and to forget about EU Membership if they are not willing to help. We need to press the Obama admin & our Congresspeople to give no-strings attached material support to these progressive brethren in Rojava.

A Comprehensive Strategy

When President Obama announced his long-contemplated strategy for confronting the Islamic State (ISIS) last month and made it clear that this would necessitate air strikes in Syria, many Syrians rejoiced at the news, believing that any intervention in their ravaged country was better than no intervention at all. many more "meat-grinders". Urban warfare is probably where they are the most vulnerable. While it's true that their weapons can degrade most buildings in short order, they will also be vulnerable to attack from relatively light ordnance. Their incursions into cities will be costly. While tanks and armour appear fearsome in cities, with out well trained, experienced soldiers to provide cover, they are death traps. One of the key reasons why Ortona is such a good book, is because it describes how the Canadian 1st Division learned, ( the hard way) the urban fighting skills they later used to decimate the German Defenders in the Rhine and the Lowlands. There are usually only a few buildings that are key to an area's defence, and in Ortona, the Canadians learned to take them by Top Floor Mouseholing to get there with minimal casualties and as the easiest way to neutralize buildings defences, take the key, and after that, it was just a case of mopping up the defenders that couldn't retreat. Turkish tanks and other ground forces have been stationed along the border within a few hundred yards of the fighting in Kobani, also known as Ayn Arab, but have not intervened. And while Turkey said just days ago that it wouldn't kobani let Kobani fall, there's no indication the government is prepared to make a major move to save it. We are besieged by Turkey, it is not something new,” said Ismet Sheikh Hassan, the Kurdish defence chief for the Kobani region. Clearly, Turkey is more concerned with extinguishing the seeds of Kurdish freedom than taking on ISIS, while the Obama administration builds a clumsy collection of passive and questionable partners kobani, kobane, ypg in this so-called anti-ISIS coalition, while failing to support what have been the most effective opponents - the Kurdish movement in Rojava (Syria) - of the ISIS drive to expand it's territory. overriding ones in US policy. Though are you talking about the FP establishment or the combined elements of the US left? They're almost completely separate groups. FGM, torture, child abuse, political imprisonment, etc are not given kobani, kobane, ypg much consideration by the former, except (sometimes) in terms of how to manage public opinion. The same would be true of your hypothetical MGM. That the Turks got a SOFA that nobody else in the world, even the Brits, got. oil. Certainly not enough to be a member of OPEC. And we started providing the aid immediately following the peace treaty between Israel and Egypt. Egypt is the second largest recipient of US military and and the 28th largest kobani, kobane, ypg producer of oil. They are much more useful as an ally in the region than as an oil producer. But after the bomb goes off, there's a handy crater left behind to shelter in. And forces all around the crater to keep moving. SURUÇ, Turkey—He gazes at the photograph of his daughter Evan on his cellphone as he offers to let me look. She is 18 years old with long dark wavy hair. It isn't a snapshot but a more formally posed picture. The girl has lively eyes, a pleasant smile. It was taken shortly before she left a note for her parents telling them she was crossing the border into Syria to join the Kurdish defense militia, the YPG. That was six months ago and last week she contacted him and explained she was fighting the militants of the Islamic State in the besieged town of Kobani. Kamara was described as being a member of Jabhat al-Nusra, an affiliate group of al-Qaida which has fought against both the forces of the Syrian president, Bashar al-Assad, and Islamic State militants in the country's civil war. Abadi said in part that he has asked Obama for weapons and had emphasized the importance of the respect of the sovereignty of Iraq and the territorial integrity of Iraq”.

The Battle For Kobani

Children armed with AK-47s fought to the death to defend Kobani yesterday after air strikes failed to stop their Islamic State enemies. But this week, the U.S. dramatically upped its air power strikes against IS in and around Kobani, including 53 strikes over the last three days alone. Several hundred IS fighters were killed, the Pentagon said. Now, the U.S. cannot afford to lose Kobani, said Robert Ford, the former U.S. ambassador to Syria. That means the city's fate is tied, in part at least, to the success of the U.S.-led strategy against the Islamic State. It has become ever clearer in the past few days: If Obama really wants to stop ISIS, he's going to have to give up on toppling Assad. The two goals are at cross purposes. The US and Europe stood by and allowed kobani, kobane, ypg Hitler and Mussolini to assist Franco when the leftists in Spain were violently crushed. It's the same with the Kurds. Kurds on the Turkish side, on the border to Kobane, have been calling it "our dear plane". Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan said on Thursday he had been informed that agreement was reached for 200 Iraqi Kurdish peshmerga fighters to pass through Turkey to help defend the Syrian border town of Kobani kobani, kobane, ypg against Islamic State militants. Turkey is facilitating the passage of Kurdish "peshmerga" fighters to the besieged Syrian border town of Kobani, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said on Monday. British people are sickened that a British citizen could be involved in murdering people, including a fellow British citizen, who had gone to Syria to help people. The United Nations security council unanimously adopted a resolution to crack down on flows of foreign terrorist fighters”. Iraqi prime minister Haider al-Abadi met with Obama and asked for weapons, saying the Iraqi army had lost many of its weapons to Isis. Obama said violent extremism” in the Muslim world” was one issue that risks a cycle of conflict that could derail” world progress. But we welcome the scrutiny of the world - because what you see in America is a country that has steadily worked to address our problems and make our union more perfect. The Nusra Front withdrawal was posted on social media accounts linked to the group, notes analyst Charles Lister. Whatever we're dropping on ISIL should be similarly fortified, and then we should deliberately drop a few duds they can look at and discover pig blood or pig fat smeared on. Pictures of US Air Force women at the controls of drones, and dropping the hint that every drone team in the US that's in this war, has a woman pulling the trigger. Costs money to scrap that stuff, so the US through various agencies, bought a bunch of it and shipped it to the Croats and Bosnians. But the difference here is the push by women for equality within the context of a socio-economic and political model that emphasizes horizontal human relations. This is a wonderful development, and it will take time kobani, kobane, ypg to take root, and of course, it won't eliminate all cultural patriarchy and theocratic manipulation in one fell swoop. It would be somewhat dangerous though because of all the Russian and Chinese RPGs that IS has. You need to re- read up on Stalingrad, and Urban Combat. Ortona is a good book. The reason the battles over the Red October Factory was so vicious, and neither side quit, is because the factory dominated an entire kobani, kobane, ypg Stalingrad suburb, and who ever controlled the factory, controlled the suburb. And I suppose a Turkish prison would be better than being brutally murdered. Still not an option I'd cheerfully choose, though.

ISIS Takes Key Iraq Base As Battle For Syria's Kobani İntensifies

In recent months, some media outlets have launched a smear campaign against Turkey by publishing and broadcasting news claiming that Turkey hosted and supported elements of Al Qaeda- linked terrorist groups in Syria. The slander went as far as accusing Turkey of training and allowing passage of those groups into Iraq and Syria through its territories. The hope of eventual victory nurtured by many of the Kurds observing the battle from the border isn't shared entirely by Ali, the father of the 18-year-old girl fighting in the town. His eyes betray his fear for his daughter and so does his voice. In a phone call to her father on Saturday, Evan told him: We killed almost 70 jihadists but they are a lot and they become more and more. They scream ‘Allahu Akbar' but why are they doing that? We are from the same religion.” She told him she and her comrades are in dire need of reinforcements and if they had equal numbers they could beat them. In an address before the UN general assembly, President Barack Obama called on the world to help defeat Isis and what he called its network of death” in Iraq and Syria. Obama said the only language the extremists understood was one of force and that the United States would fight until they were defeated. The family of British hostage Alan Henning has expressed concern that air strikes in Syria would complicate the effort to win his release. The battle is taking a heavy toll on ISIS fighters as well. A high profile American jihadist who defected from Al Qaeda earlier this year to join ISIS was reported by YPG sources to have been killed Sunday in fierce fighting in Kobani. Abu Mohammad al Amriki was first featured in an ISIS recruitment video kobani, kobane, ypg in February. Speaking in English with what seemed a heavy North African accent, he said he had lived in the US for ten years or so before traveling to Syria. He joined the Al Qaeda affiliate Jabhat al Nusra first, but then shifted allegiance and became a poster boy for "Jihad Cool" foreign fighters. The mythologies that support these patterns are varied from society to society but they all sort of militate in the same direction, which is individual survival. Maybe that's one of the reasons why Islamic fundamentalists hate song kobani, kobane, ypg and dance so much - it provides a spirit of resistance and prevents the cultural norming that these extremists want to see take place. Hence the Biden "gaffe" that highlights how Erdogan et al secretly think ISIS is just swell. Cantlie worked as a freelance photojournalist in Syria before being kidnapped alongside journalist James Foley, who was behead by ISIS militants. Cantlie appeared in an ISIS video Sunday to say hostages were tortured only when they did something stupid.” His video was in response to a New York Times piece published the same day that reported ISIS prisoners were severely beaten and starved. And yet there is a pervasive unease in our world - a sense that the very forces that have brought us together have created new dangers, and made it difficult for any single nation to insulate itself from global forces. As we gather here, an outbreak of Ebola overwhelms public health systems in West Africa, and threatens to move rapidly across borders. Russian aggression in Europe recalls the days when large nations trampled small ones in pursuit of territorial ambition. The brutality of terrorists in Syria and Iraq forces us to look into the heart of darkness. The antecedent to this is the Mujeres Libres movement in Spain , where women fought side by side with men in 1936, and who pushed for inclusion and equality within the Spanish anarcho-socialist movement. I hope the CIA kobani, kobane, ypg or Seals or Delta or someone is helping the Kurds coordinate targeting information. I don't think that's yet working very well and that's why you hear such ridiculously disappointing reports such as 'hitting a truck'. They are being opposed by just 2,000 Kurdish fighters with the YPG, the armed wing of the Kurdish Workers' Party (PKK), without access to any heavy weaponry and short on ammunition. To put this into perspective, kobani, kobane, ypg 800 ISIS fighters routed 2 divisions of the Iraqi Army, totaling 30,000 heavily armed soldiers, in June. We would view Turkey sending its troops without an international decision as an occupation," she said.

The Latest İnternational News As Video On Demand

Fighters from Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) backed by tanks and artilleray have pushed into the Syrian town of Kobani for the first time, sparking street-to-street fighting and an order from its Kurdish defenders for all civilians to flee. The military is still in the secular camp and might stop Erdogan but so far he has used all dirty tricks to put his henchmen in places of importance. As long as he lives I do not trust Turkey. unfortunately, to bottle up Russia so that they don't have freedom to come and go as they please from the Black Sea. Watching current events, I think one Kurd is worth a hundred Turks, and a thousand Arabs. Saddam had Grand Ayatollah Muhammad Baqir al-Sadr executed using, according to some, an electric drill and according to others, a nail to the forehead. That was a huge deal - he was truly the most kobani, kobane, ypg influential and loved Shia' cleric in Iraq. Many former Saddam era special forces soldiers have joined ISIL. So now, Shia' militias are reported to have executed prisoners using drills and nails. But very, very few countries have anywhere near the numbers of women serving directly in combat as they do with the Kurds. Israel and Sri Lanka are the only two I know of, and I'm not sure how significant of a percentage of the Sri Lankan military forces are women. Honestly, I had a hard time coming by information on the subject. If you know of sources besides wikipedia I'd be grateful. ammunition, as well as food and water into Kobani, but I don't see how it is possible right now. And the US didn't support it because the US needs Turkey as a check on Russia in the Black Sea, as well as a firm bulwark against the rest of the middle east. And because the US hates leftists, as I've noted here kobani, kobane, ypg numerous times. The US supports and trains "moderate" and passive protesters, not leftists. Why are we always letting the down the Kurds? They seem to be sanest, bravest, and most ecumenical faction out there. But in this case the immediate solution is to help the Kurds and the Turks who are supporting them in Kobani however the US can. Right now that's airstrikes on daesh(ISIS). While they are on paper, our "ally", they are not in any way, kobani, kobane, ypg shape or form, "allied" with our tactical, strategic or political goals for the region, as failed and flawed as they are. Perhaps they are just really, really short-sighted. Or perhaps they are making a secret diplomacy with ISIS. In my discussion with President Obama, I emphasized the importance of the respect of the sovereignty of Iraq and the territorial integrity of Iraq. And as a Prime Minister of Iraq, I reaffirmed the importance for all forces that want to help Iraq to respect the sovereignty of Iraq and its territorial integrity. I am very thankful for President Obama and all the allies, all who are helping, for maintaining and respecting the territorial integrity of Iraq and its sovereignty. My fourth and final point is a simple one: the countries of the Arab and Muslim world must focus on the extraordinary potential of their people - especially the youth. You have demonstrated that when young people have kobani, kobane, ypg the tools to succeed -good schools; education in math and science; an economy that nurtures creativity and entrepreneurship - then societies will flourish. So America will partner with those who promote that vision. I'll agree with you that the League of Nations (which the US was not a part of, due to adopting isolationism, like so many progressives want to do today) did "stand around and allow Mussoliini" to invade League member Ethiopia and when Ethiopia surprisingly was kicking Italy's troops' ass, Mussolini decided to use gas on the population, and the League did absolutely nothing (which would be a policy advocated by today's progressives, sadly). But Ethopia's leader got Time Man Of The Year, so at least there's that.

Çatışmalar Batıya Kaydı | Son dakika

66 Gündür Doğu yakasında süren şiddetli çatışmalar Kobani kentinin doğu yakasına kaydı.

İşid örgütü YPG 'nin kontrolündeki batı yakasında bulunan köylere havan toplarıyla saldırırken Peşmerge güçleri de işide ait güney bölgelerine havan topları ile karşılık vermektedir.

İlk Bağımsız Kürdistan Devleti Kurulacak

Columbia Üniversitesi Barış ve İnsan Hakları Enstitüsü Direktörü David Phillips, “Irak Kürdistanı, yani dünyada bundan sonra ilan edilecek ilk bağımsız devlet olacak" dedi.

City University Of New York'a bağlı City College of NY Anthropology Bölümü öğrencilerine extra kredi niteliğinde Kobani konulu iki saatlik ders verildi. The Anthropology Club ile New York Rojava İnisiyatifi işbirliğinde ve Colin Powell School for Cıvıc and Global Leadership  sponsorluğunda gerçekleştirilen konferansa, öğrencilerin yanı sıra dışardan davetliler de katıldı.

Kobani konulu eğitim amaçlı konferans David Phillips moderatörlüğünde gerçekleşti. Konferansta PYD lideri Salih Müslim, gazeteci Mutlu Çiviroğlu ve Boğaziçi Üniversitesi Öğretim Görevlisi Nazan Üstündağ konuşmacı olarak yer aldı.

Evsahibi olarak açış konuşmasını yapan Antropooji Bölümü profesörü Stan Thangaraj'dan sonra söz alan Phillips, ABD yönetiminin Kürt politikalarında bir an önce değişime gitmesi gerektiğini ifade etti. PKK'nin “terör örgütü” listesinden çıkartılmasını isteyen Phillips, PYD ile ilişki geliştirilmesi ve Irak Kürdistan Bölgesi'nin (KRG) bağımsızlığına destek verilmesini istedi.

Kobani'den sonraki gelişmeleri sıralayan Phillips, ABD'nin YPG'ye silah yardımı ve PYD ile görüşmesini önemine işaret ett. Phillips.

Bunun devam etmesi gerekir" dedi.

Durum Kürtler’in lehine dönüyor

Rojava konusunda yaptığı haberlerle tanınan gazeteci Mutlu Çiviroğlu, bölgedeki gelişmeleri aktardı. Kobani'deki durumun giderek Kürtler’in lehine döndüğünü vurgulayan Çiviroğlu, İŞİD'in ağır kayıplar verdiğini söyledi.

Galbraith, Müslim'in ABD yönetiminden ne gibi beklentileri olduğunu sordu.

Müslim de Kürtler’in hiçbir yerde ABD karşıtlığı yapmadığını ve ABD ve Kürtler’in Ortadoğu'da birbirine ihtiyaç duyduğunu söyledi.  (RUDAW)

For the last 2 days the gangs have concentrated their attacks on the Mistenur hill to the south east of Kobanê town. The YPG said hand-to-hand fighting was continuing between YPG forces and ISIS gangs, adding that the gangs were placing heavy weapons closed to the town and shelling it. Matson is an Army vet who served for about 18 months, from May 2006 to November 2007, the story on WISN reads. Kobanê recalled that the gangs had attempted several suicide attacks in recent days, saying these attempts were related to the setbacks they had suffered. Kobanê said it would not be possible for the gangs to succeed with these attacks, as the YPG fighters had taken precautions and prevented these attacks with bomb-laden vehicles. At the southwestern front, YPG forces also carried out a counter-attack, cleansing two separate areas of gangs and killing 7 members of theirs. It is true that YPG forces are making progress in recent days. YPG fighters have retaken 5 neighborhoods in east Kobane under control. YPG forces are in the same way advancing in south Kobane. The danger before civilians and the town however remains. The ISIS which has suffered a heavy defeat wants to devastate this city of resistance and to murder civilians vengefully. They are being responded by the YPG, peshmerga forces, Free Syrian Army (FSA) attacks on the ground and effective aerial attacks of the coalition.

Two UK trade unions have issued statements in support of the Kurdish resistance in Kobane. Unite - the UK's biggest trade union - offers support and solidarity to the people of Kobane who have been in a relentless battle over the past month to protect their city, their human rights and secular society”. Iraqi Kurdish forces continue to battle Islamic State in an attempt to break the Siege of Kobane and gain control of the city on the Syrian Turkish border. On daily basis smoke is seen billowing into the sky from the intense fighting. Makeshift classrooms in tents for a few refugees in the Turkish border town of Suruc offer some semblance of normality in the difficult conditions they are living in.
The commission has engaged with the Turkish authorities to discuss ways to enhance the ongoing support to the Kobanê refugees in Turkey. But it is reported that 7,000-10,000 civilians are still trapped in the town and in need of kobane news assistance, and it is feared ISIL has already committed large scale executions in the areas that it controls around Kobanê. Mr. President, honorable members, thank you for your attention, and I look forward to our discussion. Several trucks, carrying Katyusha rocket launchers, mortars and heavy machineguns, rolled into Kobane late on Friday, according to Faysal Sariyildiz, a Kurdish lawmaker in Turkey's parliament. US-led warplanes struck Islamic militants battling local Kurdish fighters in southern part of the town, he said. The US military has said it sees "encouraging" signs in the battle for Kobane, but has warned the town may still fall. Turkey has come under increasing pressure over the last month to step up its support for the international coalition fighting the Islamic State (IS) militants. But Ankara has so far refused to use its own troops or to let US forces launch their bombing raids on IS from the Incirlik air base in the Turkish province of Adana. Some have expressed fear that a deployment of Peshmerga fighters to Kobane would leave them short-staffed in the fight against IS in Iraq. Advances and defeats continue on both sides, with an IS convoy destroyed near Bawabt Al-Sham with many Jihadists killed but the Islamic State capturing a Peshmerga fortress north-east of Mosul and many Peshmerga dying also. Wives of men from the Amariyat Al-Fallujah area who have fled to safer towns, say that IS is forcing their husbands to fight for them. For all Mr Erdogan's disclaimers, Turkey still evidently regards Isis as a lesser enemy than Assad.kobani news Lastly, analysts have found a new way of recording the numbers of displaced persons in war-torn countries like Syria. Here are are the light levels at night recorded by satellites for the period when the conflict began, on the left, and February of 2014, on the right. The night time light levels have decreased 74% during that period overall, 60% in 12 out of 14 provinces, with some cities being almost completely extinguished. Lawmakers there agreed Wednesday to send their peshmerga fighters after Turkey said it would allow 200 of them to travel through its territory to Kobane, where IS has an estimated 1,000 militants. On the ground, the jihadists kobane news made fresh advances in and around Kobane, said the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights. The IS group had also taken control of a string of villages west of Kobane, after days of trading territory with the Kurds. Despite having limited strategic significance, Kobane has become a powerful international symbol in the battle against the hardline Sunni Muslim insurgents who have captured large expanses of Iraq and Syria and declared an Islamic "caliphate". kobane news The Kobane battle has raged in full view of the Turkish frontier, testing whether a US-led coalition can halt Islamic State's advance. The failure of Turkey to help defend the town sparked riots among Turkish Kurds in which 40 people died.kobane news A news article said that since WW1, the Jews have ruled Turkey secretly. So why would Turkey want to get involved The Satanic , Luceriferian Jews need this war in the Middle East to continue as long as possible because , they want Iran out of the way and only by continuing the war wil Iran eventually become involved in som way for Israel , or Israel to use the United States to take Iran out of their way for control of the whole Middle East.

Turkey's Leaders See Kobani As Opportunity, Not Threat

John Cantlie, the British hostage being held by the Islamic State, has appeared in a mock news report claiming to be from inside kobane news Kobane, saying the battle is "coming to an end". The film includes "drone shots" of what is said to be the beleaguered city. After capturing Mosul, Tikrit and parts of a refinery in Baiji, insurgents attacked Samarra, where Shiite militias helped pro-government forces. Then, they seized Jalawla and Sadiyah but were forced back by government troops backed by Kurdish forces. They continued their moves south by Ishaki and Dujail. But not only have they abandoned us, they have been helping the tyrant Bashar instead,” the SRF claimed.

The German magazine, De Spiegel, reported that one hundred textile factories and workshops in the Syrian city of Aleppo were moved to the eastern canton of Rojava, Efrîn, recently. YPG, along with the Kurdish Front (KF) and some other Free Syrian Army (FSA) brigades, also managed to break ISIS attacks from the east of Kobane which were aimed at sandwiching in YPG forces from both directions. It is known that there was intense clashes between YPG fighters and hundreds of ISIS fighters supported by tanks from Tel Abyad who had launched an attack that began on Monday the 7th of July and continued on Tuesday and Wednesday. Local sources reported that the YPG had destroyed several tanks and killed tens of ISIS members while also adding that the YPH had also suffered serious losses.kobane news Both Turkish and Kurdish leaders have struck a note of optimism in recent days, predicting that a peace settlement to end the insurgency, which has claimed 40,000 lives, could be only months away. If the beheadings and dismemberments were not horrible enough, another disturbing new revelation from Kobane are reports that the most brutal member of the jihadis appear to be Europeans. Intense rioting broke out this month within Turkey's 15 million strong Kurdish community over the government's failure to help Kobane, and since then Ankara has vowed to take concrete steps in the two-year-long kobane news peace negotiations with jailed PKK leader Abdullah Ocalan. SOHR have recorded 5772 people killed in Syria in October alone. 1064 of these were civilians, including 265 children and 112 women. Turkey has also allowed heavily armed forces from the Iraqi Kurdish Pehsmerga into the town to fight alongside Syrian Kurds. Elsewhere in Syria, US-led airstrikes overnight struck an oilfield controlled by the Islamic State in the eastern province of Deir-al Zour, activists said. Neither side has gained a decisive advantage in the fighting, which has forced almost 200,000 Syrian Kurds to flee into Turkey.

After Kobane, Saving Aleppo

In mid-September, Islamic State militants launched an offensive to seize Kobane, a predominantly Kurdish town in Syria just across the border from Turkey. In the kobane news following weeks, Turkey closed its border, leaving thousands of civilians stuck inside the active war zone, trying to get past the tightly controlled crossings. America is putting the defence of the Iraqi government and the destruction of Islamic State's command structures ahead of defending the embattled Kurdish city of Kobani, a leading member of the Obama administration has admitted. Tony Blinkin, US Deputy National Security Advisor, said on a visit to London that the focus of the American-led coalition was "in the first instance in Iraq".kobane news today The fight against Isis does not seem to be going too well in Iraq either. Islamic State group jihadists were in control Thursday of more than one-third of the Syrian border town of Kobane after pushing back its Kurdish defenders, a monitoring group said. Abadi's talks in Iran are part of his bid "to unite the efforts of the region and the world to help Iraq in its war against the terrorist group," his office said. This is the horrific reality described by the Kurds who have managed to flee into Turkey from Kobane, where the barbaric fanatics hold sway, despite coalition air strikes. Terrified civilians are stuck in the town and in a no-man's land between the outskirts and the border, which is closed to them. Furthermore, being a border city with Suruc of Sanliurfa province of Turkey, seizing Kobane will also allow ISIS to control the Mursitpinar Border Gate with Turkey as well. It is well known that ISIS gives specific importance to border gates especially for trade, easy crossing for fighters and logistics, the treatment of injured fighters etc. In this regard, it is increasingly likely that ISIS will plan attacks on other border crossings controlled by the Kurds like Serekaniye and Til Kocer, and crossings controlled by rival Islamist groups in Azaz. Since the start of the war in Syria in early 2011, the number of people fleeing the country has swelled to more than 3 million - half of them children. But the US has accepted only a miniscule few - just 36 in 2013. The US - which traditionally accepts more refugees than any other country- has resettled 191 Syrian refugees since March 2011, although the vast majority of these applied for resettlement before the conflict broke out, a State Department spokesperson said in an email. Nassan's comments came a day after the Pentagon spokesman said Kobani remains under threat of falling to the ISIS fighters Rear Adm. John Kirby said two weeks of airstrikes have killed hundreds of ISIS fighters, and have stiffened Kobani's defenders. This is not true. The US is NOT helping, and if anyone is helping the Syrian Kurds it is Iran, which supports the embattled Syrian government.

Kurdish Protests Leave 14 Dead As Isis Push For Kobani

This July 26 2014 video from Canada is called Free, Free Kurdistan! Anti-ISIS rally in Toronto. Enter your email address to follow this blog and receive notifications of new posts by email. Fighting between Isis fighters and Kurdish militia in the Syrian border town of Kobani has spread to new areas in the south and west. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights and an activist from the town also reported new air strikes by a US-led coalition on the edges of the town overnight. Such is the desperation to defend the town that a Kurdish female fighter blew herself up during fighting on Sunday to kill 10 jihadists. The activists are demanding more help for the besieged Kurdish forces struggling to hold onto the Syrian town of Kobani. Some European countries are arming the Kurds , and the American-led coalition is carrying out airstrikes against the Islamic extremists, but protesters say it isn't enough. France said everything needed to be done to stop Isis' advance on Kobani and that it was discussing with Turkey what action was necessary. If they take Kobani, we know they kobani, kobane, protest will come to Suruc,” said Ibrahim Akkus, watching from the nearby hillside on Tuesday. Isis now controls large parts of both Syria and Iraq and has ramped up its offensive in recent days despite being targeted by US-led air strikes. On Tuesday morning, occasional gunfire could be heard in Kobani. A flag of the main Kurdish force known as the People's Protection Units, or YPG, was seen flying over a hill in central Kobani. Turkey has long suspected the YPG is linked to the Kurdish PKK, which waged a long and bloody insurgency against Ankara, while the Syrian opposition has accused the group of conspiring with Assad, charges the YPG denies. But the air attacks appear to have done little to slow Isis. The BBC reported eight strikes in total. In recent months Kurds in northern Iraq have defended, and in some instances successfully retaken, cities along the Iraq border from the jihadists. However, it is their attempts to halt the ISIS takeover of Kobane, in Syria, which kobani, kobane, protest triggered today's demonstrations. A similar demonstration took place in Paris, with thousands marching through the city to try and force a French Government commitment to help the Kurds and pile pressure on the Turkish Government.

Death Toll From Kobani Protests İn Turkey Rises To 25

Protesters marched through the streets of several major European cities today in an orchestrated show of support for besieged Kurdish fighters currently battling Islamic State (ISIS) forces in Kobane. Beyond Turkey, a number of people were hurt when clashes broke out in the German city of Hamburg after hundreds of Kurdish demonstrators in Hamburg held a rally against IS militants. Some 400 Kurdish protesters fought with a similar number of radical Muslims, police told German media. Demonstrators, some carrying knives and knuckle-dusters, were eventually separated by police firing water cannon. Erdogan called for a no-fly zone, and for the arming of opposition groups in Iraq and Syria.
The main Kurdish armed group, the YPG, said in a statement the air strikes had inflicted heavy losses on ISIS, but had been less effective in the last two days. A Kurdish military official, speaking from Kobane, said street-to-street fighting was making it harder for the warplanes to target ISIS positions. The Kobane crisis has sparked deadly violence in Turkey, which has a Kurdish population numbering 15million. I could not stay in Kobani and wait for Isis to come and slaughter our men and kidnap our women. Also, we could not trust the capabilities of the Kurdish fighters in Kobani to stop Isis militants' progress kobani, kobane, protest towards the town. We and tens of Kobani families had to walk through a route full of mines near the borders to get into Turkey. A few people were killed and injured as they stepped on these mines at night. The Kurdish forces are now believed to face inevitable defeat in Kobane if Turkey does not open its border to let through arms - something Ankara has so far appeared reluctant to do. The U.S.-led coalition escalated kobani, kobane, protest air strikes on ISIS in and around Kobane, also known as Ayn al-Arab, some four days ago. Soon the British will be pushing this narrative. They take us for idiots. That they can lie to us that blatantly shows how much respect they have for us. A resident of Kobani who escaped to Turkey kobani, kobane, protest told the Guardian on Tuesday that Kurdish fighters there have the upper hand against Isis. A Turkish Kurd, standing in the outskirts of Suruc, on the Turkey-Syria border, use binoculars to watch the fighting between militants of the Islamic State group and Kurdish forces in Kobani, Syria, Monday, Oct. 6, 2014.
