Çatışma alanı Birinci Dünya Savaşı gibi

IŞİD'le savaşmak için Suriye'de YPG'ye katılan İngilizler Jamie Read ve James Hughes, ailelerini ziyaret etmek amacıyla ülkelerine döndü.
'Çatışma alanı Birinci Dünya Savaşı gibi'
RADİKAL – Yaşadıklarını SkyNews’a anlatan Read ve Hughes, terör örgütü Irak Şam İslam Devleti’yle çatışmalarını Birinci Dünya Savaşı’na benzetti. YPG’li ikili, ailelerinin evlerinde, İngiliz cihatçıların saldırılarına karşı panik butonu bulunduğunu açıkladı.

YPG’ye katılmaya İngiliz yardım görevlisi Alan Henning’in IŞİD tarafından infaz edilmesinin ardından karar verdiklerini söyleyen Read ve Hughes, “masum insanlar öldürülürken izleyemezdik” ifadelerini kullandı. 24 yaşındaki Read, “James’le kendimizi silahlanmak zorunda hissettik.

Responsibility To Protect Or Punish İn Syria

The Kurdish people in the Syrian border town of Kobani are still intensely continuing their resistance and have inflicted heavy losses on the terrorists, an kobaniofficial said on Saturday, adding that Kurdish fighters are readying for a new wave of operations after they forced ISIL militants to pull out of the town. Sorta' all boils down to who has the cash and resources (including those buying our government). If Kurdish people had enough to offer the western economic leaders, we would be helping them now. economic ideology Kurds have. That has no bearing on getting other nations to give up territory to create an independent Kurdistan. I'm surprised progressives are advocating that the US push for such a thing, progressives I thought demanded the US stay out of world affairs altogether. A hundred percent of the reporting in the American media relating to IS and the Kurds is spin. The success of the IS operations in Syria and Iraq is directly due to the unpopularity of the Kurds in all neighboring countries. It's idiotic to believe that 800 IS fighters ever defeated an army of 30,000 Iraqis in any real battle. It's a silly regional tribal superstition welded onto a weird strain of Islam, as is most of sharia law. all the medieval methods of torture and killing. I have seen way too many pictures of ISIS crucifying prisoners and "criminals". And from what I've read, some of the Shia militia definitely are not much better. ISIS doesn't seem to be taking any prisoners at all, instead torturing and killing all combatants whom they capture. And the worst thing is that they are often torturing and killing the civilians, as well. It also caused complications when the US also tried to use captured arms and ammo from Vietnam, to "deniably" arm anti-Soviet terrorist groups. You gotta keep in mind, when this war is done, some of the arms and ammo will need to be shipped kobanielsewhere to fuel the next war, just like this one was started with weapons from our "victory" in Libya. Is post Cold War, Germany and a bunch of the Former Warsaw Pact, (new NATO members), had tons of Soviet small arms and ammo. Relations between Turkey and Syria's Kurds have long been strained, in large part because Ankara believes the Kurdish Democratic Union, or PYD the leading Syrian Kurdish political party is affiliated with the Kurdish kobani PKK movement that has waged a long and bloody insurgency in southeast Turkey. The Pentagon said it was still investigating whether US strikes in Syria on Tuesday killed a leader of the al Qaeda-linked Khorasan group. Yes, well, as Clausewitz said, war is "War is a mere continuation of politics by other means," i.e. War is merely politics conducted through the use of force. So yes, all the problems with war are political problems. Right now, Turkey is the political problem as well as ISIS. The other half of Clausewitz dialectic is pertinent here: War is merely a duel on a larger scale. And you can't fight a duel without a weapon. Turkey does not recognise minorities. The governments have always oppressed the Kurds. They were not allowed to have their culture, no schools in their language, and so on. The Kurds always wanted some autonomy but kobani the government in Ankara did not allow that. That's why they fight since decades. Sign up now for free Military Times E-Reports. Has Propaganda Stolen Kurdish Defender ‘Rehana's' İdentity?

TURKISH-SYRIAN BORDER (CNN) - Witnesses in the Syrian border town of Kobani say the situation is getting worse. It doesn't matter how brave you are if you don't have bullets to fire and the enemy does. Britain's former ambassador to the US, Christopher Meyer, has criticised Labour's apparent insistence on UN security council backing for air strikes in Syria. Meyer accused Labour of subcontracting its policy to China kobani and Russia who as permanent members of the council would be expected to veto such any such resolution. By insisting on a UNSC resolution on Syria/Iraq/ISIS, Labour subcontracts its policy to China and Russia. This accelerated pattern of retribution, this raising of the stakes, and this deliberate and extreme manipulation of terror, is what scares me so much about this conflict. It makes me wish that the international community was stronger and more able to step in, because all the ingredients are there for barbarism on a scale we've not yet seen. for ISIS. That was a complete betrayal, yet our stooges in the State Dept. didn't see it coming. And being an ally doesn't mean we agree on everything, it means that the two countries will come to each other's defense if attacked. At least in this case it does. And Turkey is a strong ally in that respect, being a part of NATO kobani and all. Those on the left have always championed independent mindedness like FOREVER !! There's very seldom been the kind of homogenous lockstep among lefties as on the right, especially in these mindless teaparty times. But that's not so simple. They would probably need to fly them out of Incirlik in Turkey and of course the Turks are 'conflicted'. Also they'd need to have robust search and rescue capability right across the border kobani, since the A-10s fly low and are vulnerable to antiaircraft fire. I'm sure the US military (and all the others) are very reluctant to get low enough for an IS manpad or heavy gun to knock down an aircraft. The YPG also seems to have taken out lots of tanks, in addition to those being hit by the coalition air force. can wreak hell with ISIS' armor in an urban setting. I don't know the extent to which the Kurds have them, but it would be easy enough to deliver. quantities that we don't have to worry much about them being turned on Turks or whoever. Supply one and one half for each ISIS tank. Erdogan's comments did not signal a shift in Turkey's position: He has said repeatedly that Ankara wants to see a more comprehensive strategy for Syria before it commits to military involvement in the U.S.-led coalition. WATCH: Speaking kobaniabout the town of Kobani at the State Department Tuesday, spokeswoman Jen Psaki said while the situation on the ground in Kobani is horrific,” the United States remains focused on its broader strategy of defeating ISIS. But apparently the Kurdish women are aware that under the rule of groups like ISIS (and the less extremist but still very very extreme groups like the Taliban and Al Qaeda) they will have no choices about their own lives. She probably made a calculated decision to save those whom she commanded, friends whom she loved and cherished, by sacrificing her life to take out a dangerous ISIS unit that had been killing many. Further complicating the issue, the U.S. said it has begun talking directly to the Kurdish fighters' political wing in Kobani — a diplomatic move that is likely to anger Turkey. The U.S. isn't sure why IS is fighting so hard for control of Kobani, a city with few resources and far removed from any capital. But like the U.S. with Kobani, a loss to a ragtag group of Kurdish fighters would be a propaganda loss for IS.

İŞİD Saldırıları Şiddetlendiriyor

Irak Kürt Yönetimi'nden, "Kobani'deki güçlerin yenileneceği" yönünde açıklamaların geldiği gün IŞİD'in Mürşipınar Sınır Kapısı'na saldırıları ağırlaştı.

Information Clearing House

Another humanitarian catastrophe may be just hours away at Kobani. The latter is the Syrian Kurdish town on the border with Turkey that is now surrounded by ISIS tanks and is being pounded day after day by ISIS heavy artillery. Already this lethal phalanx, which fuses 21st century American technology and equipment with 12th century religious fanaticism, has rolled through dozens of Kurdish villages and towns in the region around Kobani, sending 180,000 refugees fleeing for their lives across the border. In Almaya, a suburb north of Damascus, controlling the road to Lebanon, ISIS just penetrated deep enough to OSS the road, stabilized their positions, then withdrew, leaving about 250 fighters kobani, behind. It took 4 Syrian Battalions 4 months to clear the suburb and reopen the road. Suicide tactics will likely continue, but they become less effective when they are known and anticipated. On Syria he came close to ruling out Labour backing for air strikes. The situation in Syria is somewhat different,” he said. Miliband pointed out that unlike Iraq, Syria is not asking for intervention. He said he would be calling for a UN resolution on air strikes in Syria. Air strikes alone will not defeat Isis,” Miliband said. We're doing some maintenance right now. You can still read comments, but please come back later to add your own. I wonder if someone promised them they would go to some women's heaven where they would not have to be one of some Muslim man's forty virgins, if they did this? One man's Heaven is another woman's Hell. I believe that is a large kobani part of what this war is about - human slavery, slavery of women. And, money, of course. But, then, slavery is money. I have great sympathy and support for those men and women who are resisting ISIS. May they find success. The brief letter did not mention the US invasion of Iraq in 2003, which rested on erroneous claims of weapons of mass destruction and arguably contributed to its current instability, but stresses instead the country's right to self-defence in the face of this new threat. Just as in Washington, the president has ducked the trickier task of winning a resolution for war in favour of a more palatable vote to contain the Islamic State through indirect means. America is not the World's Police. That is the thought and/or wish of the conservative mindset. Let NATO handle it. We cannot afford to fight their Wars. The huge War for Profit Machine that Bush built is still War Mongering. kobani It wants constant Wars to feed our War Machine. All the conservative private security firms want to keep making their millions. The YPG is the armed wing of the Syrian Kurdish PYD, not the Syrian Turkish PKK. There have been precious few sources of information about this critical fight anywhere in the US. I recently listened to Vijay Prashad being interviewed on Amy Goodman's "Democracy Now' where he spoke of this struggle that has largely been ignored. The left and broader progressive movement in the US needs to get its act together and make the shift from helpless observer to active solidarity. What the hell is really going on in Syria? What are we not hearing? There are shady forces at play here and I'll warrant that the darkest part is us - or at least is being done in our name, paid for by us. Hence all the propaganda. About all I know for sure is that ISIS is something recently made up and that the only time the truth about such life-and-death struggles is kept from us is when we are the bad guys. changing now that a rightwing Russia has replaced the Soviet Union, China is more nationalist/capitalist/imperialist than communist, and the very rightwing Islamic extremists are playing such a kobani big role in many parts of the world. The Cold War has been over for a quarter century now and many of the dogmatic Cold Warriors in our Govt. apparatus have retired or are retiring, as well.

If Kobani Falls Should We Care?

In a newly released ISIS video, British hostage John Cantlie appears as a telelvision reporter and claims he is in the Syrian border town of Kobani, where he says militants are winning the battle for control. To quote the smart-ass Clooney character in Brother, Where Art Thou, Well, ain't this place a geographical oddity!” It's as if IS is as close as you want it to be, as scary as you want it to be. They captured lots of Humvees and have been using them as suicide VBIED bombs, which is scary as hell. Just 2 or 3 days ago, artillery shells were hitting Kobane almost non-stop. Now there are none to be heard. You have imparted upon leftists a whole lot of things that they don't believe. I am not a pacifist by any stretch of the imagination, not have I been for quite some time, although I did hold a pacifist position when I was younger. kobaniIt's perfectly clear to me from a look at history that sometimes violence in necessary. Tony's what you call a Democratic Centrist. he spends all his time here engaged in the Old Democratic Party Sport of Hippie Punching. Since President Barack Obama is adamant that American troops will not join the fight on the ground, the U.S. has been working to help arm, equip and revamp training programs for national and Kurdish Peshmerga security forces in Iraq kobani and moderate rebel fighters in Syria. The Peshmerga and other Kurdish forces have been key in containing — if not defeating — IS across much of northern Iraq. Making sure they keep up that front is a top priority for the U.S. The US military said Sunday it had airdropped weapons, ammunition and medical supplies to Kurdish forces defending the Syrian city of Kobani against Islamic State militants. The fiercest fighting in days shook the Syrian border town of Kobani overnight when Islamic State fighters attacked Kurdish forces with mortars and car bombs, sources in the town and a monitoring group said on Sunday. Speaking tonight, the US Secretary of State, John Kerry, suggested that preventing the fall of Kobani was not a strategic US objective. As horrific as it is to watch in real time what is happening in Kobani, you have to kobanistep back and understand the strategic objective,” he said. Not to justify the Baathists or anything, but this is why Hussein and Assad Sr. were so brutal. That's what it took to keep a lid on the sectarian fanatics. Turkey's foreign minister insisted Thursday that it's not "realistic" for the world to expect it to go it alone in launching a ground operation against ISIS, even as a monitoring group said the extremists kobani had seized a chunk of a key battleground town near its border. And ISIS is inching closer to overtaking Kobani, the Kurdish enclave in Syria that's a stone's throw from the Turkish border. Turkey has offered to help Kurds enter the fight for Kobani, parts of which have apparently been re-taken from Islamic State militants, while the U.S. has air-dropped arms for the first time to help the city's defenders. TURKEY CALLING FOR MASSIVE GROUND WAR ACROSS The PLAIN OF ARMAGEDDON

Meanwhile Team Obama actually says: ‘meh, no biggie if 10,000 or so Syrian moderates are killed fighting ISIS, we've got a great plan to train and arm 5,000 over the next year'. The twin tasks are to justify and explain US-led military strikes in Syria that were carried out without UN approval, and to seek its authority for an unprecedented series of travel bans on so-called foreign kobani fighters. Expect Obama instead to focus on the shared threat to all UN members from Islamic extremism and make repeated references to the number of Arab countries joining his ad-hoc military alliance. Jets coming from Turkish airspace hit Islamic State-held territory in Syria just over the Turkish border, according to an unconfirmed report by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights. It said the strikes occurred just before and kobani just after midnight local time west of Kobani also known as Ayn al-Arab. It is unclear which country carried out the attacks. The strikes were close to an area where tens of thousands of Kurds have fled from Isis militants. It accused Turkey of supporting Islamic State group battling Syrian Kurdish forces along the Syria-Turkish border, and of stalling the peace process that it launched two years ago with the Kurdistan Workers' Party that led to the cease-fire in Turkey. In other violence, police said three separate bombings in commercial areas of the capital killed seven people and wounded dozens of others. Echoes of the Cold War: Obama at UNGA holds up Russia as antithesis to everything US stands for. Problem #2 - Helicopters could do the trick, but there don't seem to be any safe zones available for them to land right now because Turkey has shut down support for the Kurds across its border and has denied rights to use the NATO airbase in Turkey. It would thus be very risky. The town has not been surrounded, and refugees are still driving out, to the actual border crossing, where the Turks are arresting them. We are standing close to the Turkish-Syrian border—Turkish soldiers are meters away patrolling the fence, more to stop Turkish Kurds from joining the fight that to protect the country from Islamic militants besieging the Syrian border town. In the distance, black smoke is swirling from the western and northern sides of Kobani, the last redoubts of the few hundred YPG fighters who are there fighting for their lives. They control only about a third of the town now, YPG sources inside tell me, and the question remains how long they can defy the odds and prolong their last stand in a battle that resonates every bit as powerfully for Kurds as the Alamo once did for Americans. Russia's actions in Ukraine challenge this post-war order. Here are the facts. After the people of Ukraine mobilized popular protests and calls for reform, their corrupt President fled. Against the will of the government in Kiev, Crimea was annexed. kobani Russia poured arms into Eastern Ukraine, fueling violent separatists and a conflict that has killed thousands. When a civilian airliner was shot down from areas that these proxies controlled, they refused to allow access to the crash for days. This resolution will strengthen cooperation between nations, including sharing more information about the travel and activities of foreign terrorist fighters. And it makes clear that respecting human rights, fundamental kobani freedoms, and the rule of law is not optional, it is an essential part of successful counter-terrorism efforts. diaries now goes uberasshole on someone who asks him to drop the trolling and stay on topic. In Tehran, domestic repercussions of any potential statements he will make or meetings he will attend, can be costly. Hawks and fundamentalists, such as those in the Iranian parliament, will be circling like vultures to watch him slip. Anger As Wounded Kurdish Fighters Die Stranded At Turkish Border

Kurdish fighters captured six buildings from Islamic State militants besieging the Syrian town of Kobani kobani on Tuesday and seized a large haul of their weapons and ammunition, a group monitoring the war said. Pentagon spokesman Navy Rear Adm. John Kirby told CNN that U.S. and coalition forces hit 12 targets, including oil refineries that were providing up to $2 million a day in income to the Islamic State group, AP reports. I can confirm that US military and Arab partner forces are undertaking additional strikes today against ISIL (Islamic State group) terrorists in Syria,” press secretary Rear Admiral John Kirby said in a statement. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a Britain-based monitoring group, confirmed that ISIS fighters had withdrawn overnight from several areas and were no longer inside the western part of Kobani. The number of dead in the overnight fighting was not clear, but Mustafa Ebdi, a Kurdish journalist and activist from Kobani, wrote on his Facebook page that the streets of one southeastern neighborhood were "full of the bodies" of ISIS fighters. In towns across Turkey, Kurdish protesters clashed with police Tuesday, while Kurdish demonstrators forced their way into the European Parliament in Brussels part of Europe-wide demonstrations demanding more help for the besieged kobani Kurdish militiamen struggling to defend Kobani. A 25-year-old protester in Turkey was killed. Despite Erdogan's dire assessment of the battle for Kobani, the front lines were largely stable despite heavy clashes Tuesday. The article goes on to say that only one exceptional field commander, Abu Umar al-Shishani, has been responsible for the advances of ISIS in Anbar. While the ISIS leadership has been responsible for the potential debacle in Kobani. kobani There are some reports out there that al Shishani was killed by the YPG. I haven't seen 100% confirmation of that yet, though. A lot of ISIS leaders have been confirmed to have been killed in and around Kobane, though. The U.N. envoy to Syria, Staffan de Mistura, has urged Turkey to let Kurdish volunteers reinforce Kurdish militias defending Kobani. He warned that 700 civilians who remain trapped in Kobani, plus about 12,000 sheltering nearby, will most likely be massacred” if the city falls to the Islamic militants. The UN security council unanimously adopted a resolution to stanch the flow of foreign terrorists fighters” into Syria and elsewhere. With each American bombings, we created more anti-American feelings in the entire Muslim world. The pro-war talking heads and the on-the-payroll generals are already supporting American ground troops, with the story that air attacks are insufficient to do the job. Of course they are promising us that it will only be a few thousands ground troops. I have seen this mission creep before. In this effort, we do not act alone. Nor do we intend to send U.S. troops to occupy foreign lands. Instead, we will support Iraqis and Syrians fighting to reclaim their communities. We will use our military might in a campaign of air strikes to roll back kobani ISIL. We will train and equip forces fighting against these terrorists on the ground. We will work to cut off their financing, and to stop the flow of fighters into and out of the region. Already, over 40 nations have offered to join this coalition. It isn't clear whether he was a US citizen but it seems unlikely he was native born. FBI officials earlier this year said they were seeking to identify him. Where and how he was killed wasn't disclosed by the YPG, nor could the information be confirmed independently. Holland said it was sending jets to fight Isis. Jordan and Turkey vowed to support the cause, as did France. Saudi Arabia and the UAE were named as participants in US-led airstrikes in Syria late Wednesday.

U.N. Report Will Point To Assad Regime İn Massive Chemical Attack

America and the West have blamed Russia for the bloody war in eastern kobaniUkraine while Putin views America as wanting to control his nation. My prayers go out to the Kurds both in Kobane and Iraq. One cannot help but admire their fighting spirit probably much like a ragtag army of Continentals who fought off and beat the British Empire in the 1700's. Amazing things can happen when people fight for the betterment of humanity versus power, money or other forms of lower human ego driven needs. I am one who wishes Obama had the guts to let our Marines get in the fight. Currently this "war" is being fought with dumb politically motivated restraints. Warning that the aerial campaign alone was not enough to halt the Islamic State group's advance, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan called for greater co-operation with the Syrian opposition, which is fighting both kobani the extremists and forces loyal to Syrian President Bashar Assad. Violence in Iraq continued. Around 200 Iraqi soldiers were said to be trapped by Isis fighters in an army camp south of Ramadi in western Iraq. A Kurdish member of the Turkish parliament concurs. Ibrahim Binici says, Kobani will not fall. The situation in the town is good and they killed 70 IS fighters on Friday night.” But he admits the defenders need more weapons and says he and other local parliamentarians are doing all they can to persuade the Turkish government to allow a corridor for YPG fighters from the northeastern Syrian town of Qamishli and Turkish Kurdish volunteers to cross the border and join the battle. The concerted bombardment, which began on Monday night and is being led by the US together with five Arab nations, is the main talking point at the UN General Assembly in New York. The airdrops Sunday were the first of their kind and followed weeks of U.S. and coalition airstrikes in and near Kobani, near the Turkish border. The U.S. said earlier Sunday that it had launched 11 airstrikes overnight in the Kobani area. Turkish intelligence has been screening those slipping across the border into Turkey more carefully in recent days and is detaining 240 Kurds in a basketball court in Suruç, say Kurdish parliamentarians. Twenty-one of them are Kurdish activist kobani journalists and 30 are women and children. They are being interrogated about their political affiliations. On Saturday night in Diyarbakir, anti-terrorist police arrested three Western journalists while they were covering Kurdish protests. They can retreat...and not give up. I really don't see how ISIS holds Kobane if it drives out the Kurd civilians and militias. ISIS would need a Turkish effort to seal the border and that allied air power misses the logistical support from somewhere. of rogue elements in the Gulf regimes. It also can rely on resupply from more "moderate" forces that others (including the US) are arming. the Kurds to win. We've had clear airstrikes on ISIS, but I can't help but think that we want them to be successful in certain areas, and fail in others. ISIS can accomplish things that the US can't. ISIS is to be encouraged and supported in areas we want, yet attacked and discouraged and bombed in areas that we don't. We'll channel them towards our goals. And ISIS is installing sharia governments in many of the places it controls, those type of people may not be counted as fighters. Love the fact that these women are taking charge of protecting Kobani and not only chasing IS fighters out of Kobani, but killing a good number of them too. I never knew that IS fighters are kobani, kobane, ypg afraid if a woman kills them, they won't go to paradise. I just don't understand their faith and the fact they think they will go to paradise, for killing people, who don't agree with them.

ISIS Takes Key Iraq Base As Battle For Syria's Kobani İntensifies

In recent months, some media outlets have launched a smear campaign against Turkey by publishing and broadcasting news claiming that Turkey hosted and supported elements of Al Qaeda- linked terrorist groups in Syria. The slander went as far as accusing Turkey of training and allowing passage of those groups into Iraq and Syria through its territories. The hope of eventual victory nurtured by many of the Kurds observing the battle from the border isn't shared entirely by Ali, the father of the 18-year-old girl fighting in the town. His eyes betray his fear for his daughter and so does his voice. In a phone call to her father on Saturday, Evan told him: We killed almost 70 jihadists but they are a lot and they become more and more. They scream ‘Allahu Akbar' but why are they doing that? We are from the same religion.” She told him she and her comrades are in dire need of reinforcements and if they had equal numbers they could beat them. In an address before the UN general assembly, President Barack Obama called on the world to help defeat Isis and what he called its network of death” in Iraq and Syria. Obama said the only language the extremists understood was one of force and that the United States would fight until they were defeated. The family of British hostage Alan Henning has expressed concern that air strikes in Syria would complicate the effort to win his release. The battle is taking a heavy toll on ISIS fighters as well. A high profile American jihadist who defected from Al Qaeda earlier this year to join ISIS was reported by YPG sources to have been killed Sunday in fierce fighting in Kobani. Abu Mohammad al Amriki was first featured in an ISIS recruitment video kobani, kobane, ypg in February. Speaking in English with what seemed a heavy North African accent, he said he had lived in the US for ten years or so before traveling to Syria. He joined the Al Qaeda affiliate Jabhat al Nusra first, but then shifted allegiance and became a poster boy for "Jihad Cool" foreign fighters. The mythologies that support these patterns are varied from society to society but they all sort of militate in the same direction, which is individual survival. Maybe that's one of the reasons why Islamic fundamentalists hate song kobani, kobane, ypg and dance so much - it provides a spirit of resistance and prevents the cultural norming that these extremists want to see take place. Hence the Biden "gaffe" that highlights how Erdogan et al secretly think ISIS is just swell. Cantlie worked as a freelance photojournalist in Syria before being kidnapped alongside journalist James Foley, who was behead by ISIS militants. Cantlie appeared in an ISIS video Sunday to say hostages were tortured only when they did something stupid.” His video was in response to a New York Times piece published the same day that reported ISIS prisoners were severely beaten and starved. And yet there is a pervasive unease in our world - a sense that the very forces that have brought us together have created new dangers, and made it difficult for any single nation to insulate itself from global forces. As we gather here, an outbreak of Ebola overwhelms public health systems in West Africa, and threatens to move rapidly across borders. Russian aggression in Europe recalls the days when large nations trampled small ones in pursuit of territorial ambition. The brutality of terrorists in Syria and Iraq forces us to look into the heart of darkness. The antecedent to this is the Mujeres Libres movement in Spain , where women fought side by side with men in 1936, and who pushed for inclusion and equality within the Spanish anarcho-socialist movement. I hope the CIA kobani, kobane, ypg or Seals or Delta or someone is helping the Kurds coordinate targeting information. I don't think that's yet working very well and that's why you hear such ridiculously disappointing reports such as 'hitting a truck'. They are being opposed by just 2,000 Kurdish fighters with the YPG, the armed wing of the Kurdish Workers' Party (PKK), without access to any heavy weaponry and short on ammunition. To put this into perspective, kobani, kobane, ypg 800 ISIS fighters routed 2 divisions of the Iraqi Army, totaling 30,000 heavily armed soldiers, in June. We would view Turkey sending its troops without an international decision as an occupation," she said.

Since the beginning of the Syrian uprising

Since the beginning of the Syrian uprising, children have suffered the horrors of detention and torture, first by the Assad government and now by ISIS. This evidence of torture and abuse of children by ISIS underlines why no one should support their criminal enterprise. I may not agree with what Israel is doing NOW but the right of the Jews to HAVE their own nation-albeit far SHORT of what is historically CLAIMED to BE that nation-is unprecedented and appreciated. Which ally? Turkey is rather kobani, kobane, ypg independent and has a right for that. Though they are a NATO member they may switch quickly under Erdogan and his ilk. The way I see it, the coalition air force is the hammer and the Kurds defending Kobane are the anvil. SYMPTOM OF HEAVY META POISONING: Feeling most comfortable in dead threads. Demanding a comment be a "yes or no" response while also demanding a diary on same. Stating a user is not welcome while demanding they keep commenting. They wanted those captured US-supplied Iraqi Army tanks to be used against Assad. Instead, they're being wasted against Kobani and the outskirts of Baghdad. Assad must go, so Syrian Kurds kooperating with their own country's gouvernment must not be supported. I can recall that s few years ago we had the lies and propaganda to promote Iraq War I. That was followed by the lies and propaganda that gave us Iraq War II. I've posted diary after diary about how our Iraq war strategy is doomed to fail, and so I've been accused of being "pro-defeat", "anti-Obama", etc. This 56 year old Jewish handicapped grand mother of two will VOLUNTEER to put myself ON THE LINE between these ISIL whack jobs and people defending their homes. Our bombs can do no good even when the people whose version (and whose struggle) you otherwise support say otherwise. I wish Syria and Iraq could be peaceful, liberal and tolerant places, but that just isn't in the cards right now. The ammo will be distributed, but won't be discovered until it's too late. Once a few go off, large amounts of ammo will be discarded for fear of sabotage, probably much more than was initially acquired. Anyone who didn't know exactly where their ammo came from will be loathe to fire. And abandoned after some successes, when ARVN and PDG's started blowing themselves up when using captured weapons and ammo, in close fought battles. For the last 2 days the gangs have concentrated their attacks on the Mistenur hill to the south east of Kobanê town. The YPG said hand-to-hand fighting was continuing between YPG forces and ISIS gangs, adding that the gangs were placing heavy weapons closed to the town and shelling it. Matson is an Army vet who served for about 18 months, from May 2006 to November 2007, the story on WISN reads. Kobanê recalled that the gangs had attempted several suicide attacks in recent days, saying these attempts were related to the setbacks they had suffered. Kobanê said it would not be possible for the gangs to succeed with these attacks, as the YPG fighters had taken precautions and prevented these attacks with bomb-laden vehicles. At the southwestern front, YPG forces also carried out a counter-attack, cleansing two separate areas of gangs and killing 7 members of theirs. It is true that YPG forces are making progress in recent days. YPG fighters have retaken 5 neighborhoods in east Kobane under control. YPG forces are in the same way advancing in south Kobane. The danger before civilians and the town however remains. The ISIS which has suffered a heavy defeat wants to devastate this city of resistance and to murder civilians vengefully. They are being responded by the YPG, peshmerga forces, Free Syrian Army (FSA) attacks on the ground and effective aerial attacks of the coalition.

1,500 Kurdish Fighters Join Forces Against IS İn Syria

Syrian Kurdish YPG militias have been battling IS militants in and around Kobani for weeks, bolstered by U.S.-led air strikes and — more recently — by the arrival of Iraqi Kurdish Peshmerga forces. As well as besieging Kobani, IS militants have captured a number of villages around the town. In the first place, it is very unlikely that IS militants would report that the Kurds had retaken an important position unless it were true. The nature of the fighting in and around Kobani has meant that it is not possible to get a very clear picture of the state of the battle for the town. Kurdish militias tend to report dramatic gains, while IS militants are either silent or also report dramatic gains. However, there have been indications that Kurdish militias have been making some advances in the battle for Kobani. The statement said U.S. forces have conducted more than 135 air strikes against IS forces in Kobani. The Chechen IS militant also claimed that the Kurds had been assisted in their capture of the hill by American intelligence” and that the Kurdish forces had carried out their operation in the dead of night,” a sign that Kurdish militias are able to strategically outmaneuver IS to make gains. It said IS militants fired nearly 50 mortars at Kurdish areas, and two car bombs hit Kurdish positions on October 18. Erdogan said the dominant Syrian Kurdish party, the Democratic Union Party, is a "terrorist organization," just like the Turkish Kurdish rebel group it has been linked to, the Kurdistan Workers Party. Meanwhile, the Iraqi military said October 19 it had recaptured several areas from the IS group in a northern enclave as part of a major counterattack against the jihadists. Even the United States and Turkey warned in October that the town was teetering on the brink.

Two UK trade unions have issued statements in support of the Kurdish resistance in Kobane. Unite - the UK's biggest trade union - offers support and solidarity to the people of Kobane who have been in a relentless battle over the past month to protect their city, their human rights and secular society”. Iraqi Kurdish forces continue to battle Islamic State in an attempt to break the Siege of Kobane and gain control of the city on the Syrian Turkish border. On daily basis smoke is seen billowing into the sky from the intense fighting. Makeshift classrooms in tents for a few refugees in the Turkish border town of Suruc offer some semblance of normality in the difficult conditions they are living in.
The commission has engaged with the Turkish authorities to discuss ways to enhance the ongoing support to the Kobanê refugees in Turkey. But it is reported that 7,000-10,000 civilians are still trapped in the town and in need of kobane news assistance, and it is feared ISIL has already committed large scale executions in the areas that it controls around Kobanê. Mr. President, honorable members, thank you for your attention, and I look forward to our discussion. Several trucks, carrying Katyusha rocket launchers, mortars and heavy machineguns, rolled into Kobane late on Friday, according to Faysal Sariyildiz, a Kurdish lawmaker in Turkey's parliament. US-led warplanes struck Islamic militants battling local Kurdish fighters in southern part of the town, he said. The US military has said it sees "encouraging" signs in the battle for Kobane, but has warned the town may still fall. Turkey has come under increasing pressure over the last month to step up its support for the international coalition fighting the Islamic State (IS) militants. But Ankara has so far refused to use its own troops or to let US forces launch their bombing raids on IS from the Incirlik air base in the Turkish province of Adana. Some have expressed fear that a deployment of Peshmerga fighters to Kobane would leave them short-staffed in the fight against IS in Iraq. Advances and defeats continue on both sides, with an IS convoy destroyed near Bawabt Al-Sham with many Jihadists killed but the Islamic State capturing a Peshmerga fortress north-east of Mosul and many Peshmerga dying also. Wives of men from the Amariyat Al-Fallujah area who have fled to safer towns, say that IS is forcing their husbands to fight for them. The IS group had also taken control of a string of villages west of Kobane, after days of trading territory with the Kurds. Despite having limited strategic significance, Kobane has become a powerful international symbol in the battle against the hardline Sunni Muslim insurgents who have captured large expanses of Iraq and Syria and declared an Islamic "caliphate". kobane news The Kobane battle has raged in full view of the Turkish frontier, testing whether a US-led coalition can halt Islamic State's advance. The YPG Press Center has released a statement providing information about the YPG operation that has been going on in Serêkaniyê since last Saturday. The operation has reached a new phase now as YPG forces are launching offensive attacks in Rawiya and Dehma and another area after having broken the ISIS defensive line and seizing many positions of theirs. The statement added that two YPG fighters have fallen while fighting ISIS gangs in last night's operation.
International efforts to achieve a Syrian-led transition remain the EU's priority in order to maintain the country's unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity while preserving its multi-ethnic and multi-religious character. There cannot be lasting peace in Syria if the legitimate grievances of all ordinary Syrians, including those belonging to ethnic and religious groups, including the Kurds, are not addressed. The prosecutor's statement says they organized the transfer of fighters through a Muslim-dominated region in southwest Serbia to Turkey and on to training camps in Syria. Islamic State (Isis) fighters kobane news were moving in on Kobani's outskirts on Tuesday after puncturing the Kurdish frontline late on Monday , but Kurdish fighters appeared to be holding the centre of the city against the advance. Some observers pointed out that the perceived policy shift in Ankara was no surprise and pointed to a string of violent protests that shook Turkey two weeks ago in response to the government's perceived inaction over the crisis in Kobani. Similar scenes were repeated in cities across the country as Kurdish leaders and Turkish leftists called for mass demonstrations in solidarity with Kobane. Gone are the days when Islamic State, also known as ISIS, was able to seize territory in both countries with relative ease. Its newfound problems, including a loss of oil revenue, raise questions about the extent to which it will be able to continue recruiting fighters who want to be with a winner. Under pressure from the United States, Turkey agreed last week to allow the peshmerga to reinforce the town. The US coalition has stepped up air strikes against the Islamist militants around Kobane - but Mr Blinkin warned that the priority would continue to be to attack IS's infrastructure which reinforced its campaigning in Iraq. YPG, YPJ and peshmerga commanders answered questions from local and foreign reporters at the press conference. Dijwar Xebat and Hebûn Derik spoke on behalf of the YPG/YPJ Commands and Ehmed Kurdî spoke on behalf of the peshmerga forces. On Wednesday, YPG commanders, fighters, and activists in Kobane described the situation in and around the city — only a few hundred feet from the Turkish border — as increasingly desperate. After an early morning offensive, the jihadists had moved to within six to ten kilometres kobane news of the town, Hesen said in a phone call with a reporter from Bloomberg Businessweek and two colleagues. The most intense clashes were taking place on the southern front, he said, where the Kurds were trying to hang on to a key stronghold, a hill overlooking the city. YPG, along with the Kurdish Front (KF) and some other Free Syrian Army (FSA) brigades, also managed to break ISIS attacks from the east of Kobane which were aimed at sandwiching in YPG forces from both directions. It is known that there was intense clashes between YPG fighters and hundreds of ISIS fighters supported by tanks from Tel Abyad who had launched an attack that began on Monday the 7th of July and continued on Tuesday and Wednesday. Abadi's talks in Iran are part of his bid "to unite the efforts of the region and the world to help Iraq in its war against the terrorist group," his office said. This is the horrific reality described by the Kurds who have managed to flee into Turkey from Kobane, where the barbaric fanatics hold sway, despite coalition air strikes. Terrified civilians are stuck in the town and in a no-man's land between the outskirts and the border, which is closed to them. Furthermore, being a border city with Suruc of Sanliurfa province of Turkey, seizing Kobane will also allow ISIS to control the Mursitpinar Border Gate with Turkey as well. It is well known that ISIS gives specific importance to border gates especially for trade, easy crossing for fighters and logistics, the treatment of injured fighters etc. In this regard, it is increasingly likely that ISIS will plan attacks on other border crossings controlled by the Kurds like Serekaniye and Til Kocer, and crossings controlled by rival Islamist groups in Azaz. That's why IS has even taken the really scary step of bringing the Chechen to Kobane. You know why you bring in the Chechen? Because balrogs don't actually exist. Chechens are the next best thing, and the Chechen in question, Abu Omar al-Shishani ( Omar the Chechen ”), was transferred this week from the Sinjar front, where he was in charge of slaughtering Yazidi refugees. Omar has been brought to Kobane as a fixer, with the job of closing down the border before reinforcements can reach the YPG. Tikrit, Saddam Hussein's home town, fell the next kobane news day. In August, the Yazidi stronghold Sinjar fell. Every day brought new reports of victories for the Islamists. ISIS seemed unstoppable. A small advance party was reported to have entered the town to coordinate the arrival of their comrades. In a move likely to anger key ally Turkey, a C-130 cargo aircraft conducted "multiple" airdrops of supplies provided by the Kurdish authorities in Iraq.
